Thank you for uploading this as there aren’t many vids of actual users of the Eagle Eye 9 on YT. I think those of us who are considering this unit would appreciate seeing another vid of it in deeper water. Thank you.

I will make another video on it in deeper water. Currently most of the lakes here are covered in ice now. Thanks for checking out the video and letting me know what you thought!

You can only use half the screen.. spend the extra money and buy a real setup
@FishingPrairieandShieldTVАй бұрын
It's like less than half of the cost and if you set the range and depth appropriately you get like 80% the view of what Livescope/Active Target gives you. Plus you can switch to down mode with no need to adjust the transducer itself which kind of lets you see into the blind zone. Like I'm not getting it myself as I already use Active Target but some casuals can now get FFS without having to sell a kidney. Plus the lack of black box and lower power consumption make it more useful in situations like ice fishing or kayak fishing when weight and space saving is important.

The reason you're seeing it only up high on the screen is how I have the bottom depth setting. I could set the bottom depth to a shallower setting to utilize more of the screen but my preference is the way I have it in the video. My brain processes the info better if its more confined rather than spread out. Simple adjustment though. Just go into the menu and select the depth menu and hit auto or select the depth you want the bottom at to maximize or minimize what you see on the screen.

Accessories shouldnt out cost the price of the kayak. Im a very firm believer in that. From the looks of this. Your kayak is probably 1/5th the cost of that build. **Edit**. I have the f10 and i know the u10 is a bit wider. Do you know how much better the stabilits is on that compared the f10?
@derekbrundlefishing6 ай бұрын
Great question! Yes the U10 is a bit more stable and a little longer (10'''s). It also has some added features like the Tarpon Drainage system which drains water from the deck incredibly fast.

I had the motor installed on my ‘17 hobie outback. Biggest issue i have is the initial take off speed when you want to anchor over your waypoint. It goes full speed with sharp turns which almost knocked me off the kayak few times. I called the company they told me there is no settings to change the initial take off speed when you try to anchor. Tell me about your experience, thanks

It's not specifically a "kayak motor." Plus, how fast do you need to go on a kayak? I have this motor on my 17' Bass Tracker boat and it pulls the hell out of that. Also, that motor drains the hell out of a battery. How do you have that much battery on a kayak without sinking?
@derekbrundlefishing Жыл бұрын
Hi jim it is designed for use on a kayak. We use lithium batteries so they last a good long while and are fairly light compared to a lead acid battery. This kayak has a 600lb weight capacity so I’m not worried about it sinking. Thanks for commenting much appreciated!
@jim62367 Жыл бұрын
@@derekbrundlefishing That is not what I have been told and I have only heard that from folks like yourself on KZbin. In no other research, including talking to their support personnel and the sales folks at BassPro, have I seen or heard anything about that motor being specifically designed for kayaks. And it it certainly not in the product manual so all evidence points to it not being such. If it works, great. I personally think it's way too heavy for most kayaks, but if yours is that heavy, maybe not a problem. It would flip mine, lol. My Bass Tracker that I have it on is about 850 lbs empty, add a couple of 250 guys and gear, well you get the idea. And it moves us just great, pretty fast on the upper speeds. So when I questioned this, that was my basis. If no literature anywhere says its for a kayak and it can move 1500+ lbs pretty fast, I cannot imagine what it would do to a kayak.
@jim62367 Жыл бұрын
@@derekbrundlefishing A quick note, I did find where they refer to the motor with the 36 inch shaft perfect for a kayak. But not "designed for." And only the 36 inch shaft, every time i queried on it. They make s few shaft lengths. I have the 48 inch version. Maybe that's our difference.

Hey derek. love your set up. I have the unlimited and im thinking of getting a gear pod so i can make a clean, no exposed wire set up for a find finder and transducer. can you elaborate on your set up? it seems you have some custom mounts on the gear pods track and then a scotty arm over the edge

So, how is your tracking with your Xi3? I see a few people saying they have to buy the flip down rudder system to track properly. Do you think that’s a necessity? Would hate to have to buy that as well after spending money on a Xi3.
@Tnapvrvideo Жыл бұрын
Great share! btw, with a front mounted motor, how do you get this Unlimited onto a trailer? Do you have submerge the trailer to float the boat on? That probably puts the muffler under water given the short length of the typical Malone trailer. Many Thanks!
