Thanks for this video. I bought a Frontier 12 last season and used it in the James and the New Rivers last year. I bought a Motoguide XI3 late last year and have it mounted now and ready to go fishing. I used your video to modify my boat. I used a chrome eye bolt right between the hinges on the hatch that lined up with the release pedal above. I used two rubber backed washers for the eye bolt installation. Cord slips right through nicely and pedal depresses easily. This setup will make fishing the shallow, rocky rivers with the motor possible.

Awesome setup! I just installed an xi3 on my kayak last week and haven’t had a chance to use it yet.(I have used it on another bigger boat and love it). I was figuring out a deployment method and came up with this exact system right down to the carabiner but haven’t installed that yet. Thanks for showing me it will work. Great video!👍👍 Hope you have a great weekend. God Bless

I had the motor installed on my ‘17 hobie outback. Biggest issue i have is the initial take off speed when you want to anchor over your waypoint. It goes full speed with sharp turns which almost knocked me off the kayak few times. I called the company they told me there is no settings to change the initial take off speed when you try to anchor. Tell me about your experience, thanks

can i see your custom plug system? You were going to detail that in the video, but didn't. I'm rigging mine now and want to do it that way if possible.

Thanks for taking the time to make this! Perfect timing - took my maiden voyage on F12 with same setup last weekend & saw the stow/deploy as something to be addressed. One question - you appear to have the rope that's attached to the pedal threaded through something under it to get vertical movement when you pull the rope - details? Thanks again.

Glad it helped!

Also wondering what the rope is threaded through by the pedal. Struggling to get vertical movement when I pull the rope

Can you give me the overall dimensions of the Motorguide quick release bracket parts as well as the bolt hole spacing for the smaller section that bolts to the kayak? I'm curious if this motor will work on the front of my kayak and not get in the way of me being able to open my front hatch.

IRBent2 I sure can! I’ll do that later today!

@@derekbrundlefishing no need for me to have those measurements anymore, but others here might need them.

What are powering the trolling motor with and what's the battery life like, especially if you use the spot lock feature alot throughout the day?
@derekbrundlefishing4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris I can’t give you an honest solid number of hours on this because I’ve never had it run all the way dead! I can tell you that I have gotten 14 hours out of it in one day however I do charge it every time after using it. Bottom line is you’ll get a ton of run time out of the Amped Outdoors 100 amp hour battery!

How much more accurate is the gps compared to others? You can't say it's the most accurate without proof to back it up
