AAAAArrrrgh, the Viper alarm "short to GRN"..I wonder if the alarm in my '03 Dakota is similar(maybe wired the same way) My Dakota was stollen, wrecked and left for dead. Still can't figure it out. I called the alarm dealer, they stated if the thief was able to start the truck, there's nothing beyond that in regard to theft detection/shut-down, or recovery tracking. Currently, "crank no start" I get fuel pressure(42psi) continuity, ground & pulse signal from CKP & CMP to Ecm no 5v out (pin#7) to ignition. Replace the ECM, everybody says, and still NOTHING!!!

Someone please help me I’ve spent over 600 since Thursday still haven’t found issue. 97 Tahoe 5.7 vortec once warms up gets out of second gear can’t stay at a steady speed without it sounds like trynna stall but never ever does just have to hit gas harder to get it to stop then goes right back to doing it bs when u try to go a steady speed. Only does it when warmed up and after 2nd gear. Brand new distributor and crank but still throwing out that code. That code is the only code my truck throws but that issue I’m just so loss I need help someone please help

CLOTHES HANGER; Almost impossible to Stop. The rain run off from the outside windshield drain clogged, use a straighten clothes hanger and stick it down the drain screen slot you should be able to see the hanger go all the way to the ground take a look under the car to make sure the hanger went all the way through to the ground to clean out leaves and dirt or water will come into the car on to the floor boards and wet the fuses, two drains to clean out with a straight clothes hanger. Mercedes Benz was already sued and loss the class action for such a poor design in a $100,000 car, for water getting into the fuse boxes in and out of the car.. A free clothes hanger tool and a quick fix. How stupid is that from a certified Mercedes Benz technician Cherry Hill, N.J.

So if i know i have output voltage to Terminals 15 and 75X at 0.288 =0.29 with no signal from and for my output voltage at Terminal 50 what should i be checking from there in determining why its off and no signal is coming from it when it should ??

Scanner Danner was wondering if you had a minute to answer a question? My 02 cavalier 2.2 LS will only start when I jump pins 87/30 of the crank relay and I'm not showing voltage on top half fuses in my in car box. I was trouble shooting and one headlight has 12.5 Volts coming out of all 3 wires the other headlight has regular 0 on one then 2 others have full voltage and other wire a little less... Does half day timme running lights..... Ty so much for videos but if u had a min. I'd greatly appreciate it.. Been at it for months..Also OBD keeps disconnecting? Another clue, I don't know 🤷

i put 5 volts to the signal wire it shows when i test crankshaft sensor but it doesnt show when i test other sensors on the same signal wire it only shows the 12 volt power i have 2005 nissan murano awd it dont have a icm i dont think so what is mine called can you please lead me in right direction cause i dont have alot of money for the shops im a single dad and i need to get my kids back and forth to school and this is the only car i have

When you do that bypass test, isn't it sending 12 volts instead of 5 through that signal wire? I wouldn't think the ECM would allow the injectors to fire with too much voltage running through that reference wire. I figured the ECM would see it as a short to ground or something.

I installed a new cheap distributor on my 96 5.7L now I have a -23 degree timing advance for #1 cylinder. When I rotate it a tooth it points far away from the #1 cylinder pin on the cap.

i had the same thing and found the distributor had a #6 on it when it should be an 8. I have a 6cyl distributor that came with an 8cyl cap.

Well buddy, new injectors, intake gaskets, timing adjustment, and the engine running condition degraded to the point I am certain my ECU is bad, drives fine, just don't stop, it wont idle, the ECU is a special one that is so rare it cost 3 to 4 times what every other one for the year van, its just not worth $600 more just to see if the damn thing will run right, this is why I prefer a carburetor. Radiator broke, transmission burnt up, C-6, not computer controlled, alternator burnt up, ate the brushes down to the wires, regulator corroded till the pins broke off, distributor was busted where the hold down screw was, more money has been spent on repairs than the van cost, and it is not street able still, no one wants to work on it that has the equipment to hook to it, they prefer OBDII. The fact capacitors leak out and destroy the circuit board is good reason to stick with carburetors, avoid this electronic mess.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! I'm having the exact same problem with my 2013 C 250! The engine misfired due to failed spark plugs and a broken head gasket. I went ahead and fixed that, but there is a separate issue with my car not starting and not connecting to the ECU. My cooling fan also blows at full speed with the car off. If I open the doors, the hood, or the trunk, it triggers the fan even if the ignition isn't going. I have to unplug the main relay for it to stop. A friend of mine who works on European cars said he couldn't find a short, and that it's probably my ECM that's fried, but he didn't do the 5v reference. He just tried to get into the ECU with the OBD reader and failed. He could communicate with all the other modules, but not the engine or transmission. From watching this video, I'm starting to think that I also have a short somewhere. It was termite season here in the south, so I wouldn't be surprised if they got into my engine and chewed some wires. Also, lizards seem to enjoy my car, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of them got to the wiring somehow.

I have a couple of high school students, I tell them all the time, no u tube editing shows the real case study results. Even seasoned technicians have situations that result in difficult questions. The training and learning curve never ends. Great training video.

Question!! So I am doing the test Lea to ground and the other test lead to the wire. With the ecm and the in this case throttle body disconnected, and I get O.L. Reading. What does O.L mean in this case?
