I somehow never realised what this song is about until now. But these guys are great at writing lyrics oh my. I'm so glad these songs stuck with me from my teenage years. This is a good band and I enjoy listening even more now. Glad I came across them too because I'd probably never hear about them nowadays. It's a shame to think how much music might be out there that I'd love but just never got to hear But to leave it on a positive note of course, it's so nice that I know of alkaline trio. I don't really connect with a lot of music but these guys make it just right :) so I'm super glad to be here. Also I love everything, instruments and lyrics. That's so super rare for me.

Alkaline Trio is punk, not emo. Also both AK3 and MCR came from punk scenes. I do agree that Black Parade is a poppy mess though.

@@SuperTiaanBro well, they play(ed) Jawbreaker's "Emo Punk" style. Maybe not Midwest Emo or Emocore kind of thing, but similar

They were playing shows for 10 people audiences for years. I envy those 10 people there .. this sounds better than the cd version. So raw. Alk3 died after goddammit for me

I think its not like most songs when you're sad. If you listen to a happy song to try and cheer up it just feels like someone saying "Damnit i don't give a fuck, you better get happy right now!" but when you listen to heavens or alkaline trio it's more like somebody saying "Yeah i get where you're comming from man, life sucks sometimes, but it's ok we'll work our way through it together."
