I mean, you can't generalize about Canada. Given how massive it is, obviously the whole country won't be a frozen hell. You are living in the Southern most tip. In other words, that's about as warm as it gets. BC is somewhat better (Warmer), but Halifax is a far cry from something like Edmonton. As for liking Winter, trust me, -40 is no fun.

No -40 doesn't sound fun

I miss the old architecture, it looked authentic and rustic

The old architecture did look nice, it is always tough to keep the old character and build new stuff to match

Wow, most of the changes happened in the last 3 years! It was definitely my favourite part of Halifax but unfortunately I had to move out of the city when I retired. So I haven't seen the changes in the last 3 years, I'll definitely have to make it in this summer.

Very happy to have found your channel. We live aboard in BC but are selling our sailboat to build on a lot we bought in NS and are very excited about the move. This has been incredibly informative about winters. I also love winter (spent 3 years in ON as a child) and after more than a decade on a sailboat, we feel prepared to design our home for all situations. Will definitely be contacting Out of the Cold to see how we can contribute to the province. Cheers from a new subscriber!

Also Andrew Cobb designed a golf club. Look for the remaining chimney at Golf Links Park. You can see the chimney on google maps. I seen it several years ago in person, hoping its still there.

Cool I didn't know that, there are a lot of things he designed and it's hard to find everything

I wish I could be in London, ha! A lot of Toronto businesses are opening in Halifax, places that were once open only out West. Sarah & Tom had two stores in Toronto before they came back to her hometown and opened one up in Halifax.

Indeed, quite the successful fail for sure...it looks pretty good to me. I just had to go with a few still shots that I got as the video was worthless as it just look like a big bright light! Didn't have all the correct filters either and just went with a couple layers of protective glasses. Watched most of it though on the NASA channel as it made its way all across North America. It was just great all in all to be a part of the whole shared experience.

One time when my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary in the area, we did a Zodiac boat whale watching tour, and the pilot took us near the lighthouse. He said "Take a lot of pictures because you NEVER see the lighthouse from this angle" He was right, when I showed people my lighthouse pictures, they would say "Where's THIS?"
