I like it at lower gains with higher weight and stacking it with a crispy distortion amazing tool and looks awesome, great demo

@@colincain2224 dude I’ve already had much trouble picking these 11 haha. The underdog here is probably the aib muff, that pedal gave me tons of inspiration. But I really couldn’t decide..they all have some veeeery nice features and peculiarities. I’d say I’d take a rat on a desert island anytime, if that answers your question? I gotta do this! Funny enough, the DS-1 is the only distortion pedal I was ever actually happy with aside from the drop in low in when engaging the pedal (so I’d keep the tone rolled all the way to the left). I’ve tried many different pedals over the years, from $300 EHX to the Boss Bass Overdrive (which is garbage IMO). Only thing that has come close to my personal taste is the Ibanez Bass Tube Screamer (which is more of an overdrive, and I can’t get the cutting bite like the DS-1). Thank you for posting!

One of the best and cheapest is Digitech Death Metal - a lot of bass it has . It can work as a lo-fi effect . A lot of gain despite it doesn't have a "gain" knob

The rat specifically is so damn versatile. I'm to the point now I can find a way too use it for almost everything. It's even more versatile with an overdrive in the front for your tight boosted metal tones. I always go back too a set up of overdrive, rat, big muff. You can't go wrong.
