It's cool from a storytelling perspective but from a crowd control perspective it's kinda annoying. Every land (other than the hub) has one entrance/exit which is already bad at Nintendo World in Hollywood. The layout of that land in particular leads to a lot of people just crowding around and it doesn't seem they changed it. 6:10 Also a big difference between Disneyland and Epic Universe is that Disneyland utilizes subtle visual transitions between lands to create a story and a more open feel of where to go. Completely preventing any connection between lands just seems super limited and like a big misstep to me. One of the biggest complaints about Galaxy's edge is how isolated it feels with Everything being hidden away and I feel like this is sort of like that. Right now the layout of the park gives off the vibe of that video game Thrillville.
@jaykay1899
@jaykay1899 Ай бұрын
The whole story behind the park is that you’re entering different portals to completely different universes. How would it make any sense to have subtle transitions between the different lands? They are supposed to feel complete isolated from each other because they’re going for the idea that you’re quite literally stepping through a portal to somewhere new

The only problem with the park in my opinion is that there’s just a lot of dead zones so when you’re leaving a land, you have to come back, but they’ll probably be fixed in the future with more expansions.

@keiichimorisato98 Ай бұрын
Yeah, it'll get filled in over time. This is a great start. I'm really hoping to see what they do to expand the lands or what they decide to do with adding new ones. @@ChienaAvtzon 100% agree with you but the Lion king should go in Frontierland where there’s already a show about this movie. The walt Disney studios park already has Marvel Avengers campus, so star wars would have been a really cool addition.
@ChienaAvtzon
@ChienaAvtzon Ай бұрын
@@disneylandfireworksshows - Galaxy’s Edge would not have been cool, because it was a scaled down version of the biggest flop in the American parks. Galaxy’s Edge was only considered for Paris, because it is cheaper to replicate a preexisting ride, than design something new from scratch. Not to mention, Disney had not yet known the American audience would reject the land and hotel. Walt Disney Studios/Disney Adventure World needs an exclusive immersive land to give it an identity. Similar to what Cars Land did for Disney California Adventure, back in 2012. The Pride Lands will do just that. As it is based on the most successful Disney animated film, and features a ride system Paris has been lacking for decades.

Sad that Disney blew their chance to make Star Wars land successful. WDW’s Rise of the Resistance used to have 4 hour wait times now, now it had a 30-45 minute wait times and that is a bad sign when the attraction is only 5 years old. Wished Paris got their own unique planetary location for each resort such as Naboo, where Disneyland with its dry sunny climate should have gotten Tatooine while WDW gets Endor since Hollywood Studios already had the shield bunker for Star Tours.

Magic Kingdom's Rivers of America has the issue of serving little purpose as compared to Disneyland Anaheim's Rivers. The only two activities or attractions that the WDW version has anymore is the river boat and Tom Sawyer's Island. Neither are huge crowd drawers and the real estate it sits on is more valuable for other purposes. In California, the Rivers of America have a number of purposes: the Mark Twain, the Columbia Sailing ship, Tom Sawyers Island, the Canoes, it the stage for Fantasmic and a beautiful scenic view for the Disneyland Railroad journey. Even Paris Disneyland has a major attraction on its River - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad which occupies the space we call Tom Sawyer's Island. WDW rivers while a nice backdrop for Frontierland and Liberty Square serves little purpose.

I was on Tom Sawyer Island last weekend and boy it is a damn shame Disney wants to remove the Rivers of America. While I understand the island is not often visited, the view of the mainland from the island is truly incredible. It did rain hard when I first got on the island, but seeing how Liberty Square and Frontierland look across the river with the Adventureland buildings and Cinderella Castle in the background stand out really well on a sunny day. Tom Sawyer Island is the perfect place to slow down and get away from the busy Magic Kingdom crowds. The Rivers of America is calming as opposed to a loud dirt rally race track looking out of place within the classic Americana side of Magic Kingdom.
