My favorite thing about the watch was the smooth display as well. But I didn't really like the software and I also didn't like the fact that the watch didn't support custom watch faces. I had used mi band 1, 2, 3, and 4 before and I really liked the software of mi band. I ended up selling the watch and buying mi band 7. Companies usually do not add features such as Always On Display in an update because they hadn't built the software and hardware with AOD in mind. So I never expected this to be added to the watch but I expected them to add support for custom watch faces but they didn't. Instead, the started removing features that they had included at launch (they removed the temperature sensor app).

@@nasarreviews I was also using Mi band 4 before and needed an upgrade with big display. Having no AOD is fine for me as it reduces battery life but the lack of variety in watchfaces is my main issue with this watch. If only haylou allow 3rd party custom watchfaces then it will be the best budget watch. Right now, it has around 130 watchfaces but still only few ones are better, rest are mostly childish and less informative. I'm thinking of switching to either Kr select or maybe Mi band 7 pro or something similar in coming weeks

The watch tracks the steps itself. It tracks the steps, heart rate and sleep without the phone.

I don't think there is any option to change the ringtone. The app is not so in-depth.

Usually, Chinese smart watch companies do not update the UI of their old watches. They create new UI for new watches and the old watches keep the old UI. RS4 Plus is Haylou's latest watch so it has the latest UI.

It has been removed by Haylou in a software update.

@@theotheo143 I have dropped the watch a few times because of the strap. The strap hit a door once and a desk once. The strap opened and the watch fell. The strap is quite nice but replacing it would be better to make the watch last longer.

@@robo6336 no it doesnt...but you still can set a black theme and choose to leave the screen on for 30 minutes. it's quite similar to the aod with the low consuming battery because the black pixel does not appears on the amoled screen

@@sus8575 Not quite similar. Always on display autodims as well, and autoilluminates when you need it to. Which is where the majority of its battery saving takes place, not just because of the amoled display being able to 'turn off' other pixels.

@@ruekurei88 Yes. but it's a temporary way I can use when I want to see the time without lifting my wrist. i know it can't be as good as aod but it meets my needs. Partly because the wrist shake sensor of this watch is delayed 0.5s after lifting the wrist. that's what i find bad about this watch

No, RS4 plus doesn't support third party watch faces. I sold my watch because of this reason.

I haven't used the redmi watch 2 lite but when I was searching for a watch to buy I also looked at redmi watch 2 lite. Redmi watch 2 lite has GPS. And it might have better watch faces. But I chose RS4 plus because it was cheaper and it had an Amoled display (Redmi watch 2 lite doesn't have an amoled display). The RS4 plus watch also looks more premium.

I don't think that there is any watch in this price range that offers built-in GPS.

Haylou removed the option of temperature sensor from the watch in an update. This option no longer exists in the watch.

@@AbdulWahab-fx9qc I don't have any link for this information. Haylou is not a well known brand so there usually aren't many articles about them. People in my comments told me that they don't have the temperature sensor option. I had the option but I got an update for the watch. After installing the update, the option was gone.

@@nasarreviews that’s bizarre. Isn’t the temperature sensor the only thing (other than the strap) that makes the Plus different to the original RS4? I guess the sensor ended up being too inaccurate or something like that

Haylou themselves removed it. Probably because it wasn't accurate (?) Or because it needed to be optimized. Either way I don't know if it'll come back because haylou doesn't really communicate with their customers, it hasn't come out this update but maybe next time it will so like new years?

I don't entirely understand the part about the update. But as for temperature sensor, Haylou removed it from the watch.

I don't think it can be disabled. I haven't seen this option. You can enable the do not disturb mode but that disables almost all notifications.

Hello! Please make sure that you have enabled the notification option in the Haylou Fit app. If you have already enabled the notifications, then this could be a device related issue. You might have to disable battery optimizations for the app. I have tested the watch with WhatsApp and Messenger (Facebook) notifications and they work fine.

Just bought the watch and now searching for 20mm leather strap for it. So far not a bad experience. Actually it's more classy than I thought.

@@the_kayman I'm still using haylou so you can say I'm enjoying it. Besides where I live there are very few types of smart watches available so this takes the cake for me. Plus using it with a leather strap and it's classy.

RS4 Plus doesn't support custom watch faces. You can only use the watch faces that are available in the Haylou app.

@@samz.1 You can now apply custom background to the watch. But that doesn't really count as custom watch faces. In custom watch faces, we can apply any font and any design in any configuration. Mi bands have really great support for custom watch faces. In mi band 7, people have also created games which can be set as the watch face.

Yes, the hardware is great and the watch looks amazing. There are a few issues in software which I found quite annoying while using the watch. And the watch faces are just atrocious. Support for custom watch faces would make this watch much better.

No, the default app doesn't have the option to customize the watch faces. There is a third party app which allows customization of watch faces on some models of Haylou smartwatches but that app doesn't support custom watch faces for RS4 Plus either.

I have been checking Hello Haylou frequently. I also checked it before making the review. The developer keeps saying that the format of the watch faces of this watch is unknown so he's currently unable to add custom watch face support.
