1995 325i EWS car. If I cut the green wire at the EWS, and if I have a good DME ECU with the EWS chip installed, will it start up this way, or do I also need a non-EWS chip? Is that burgundy DME from a 1994 325i?

why do I have engine speed in my tuner 4800 5500 6000 6500 and the map that I want to configure in the tuner pro, the engine speed is 4800 5100 500 6070 6080 what should I change in the settings so that the speed for the settings is the same

Thanks!! I have an E36 318iS which is coughing and spluttering - I suspect water in the fuel but this video has given me some excellent info on how to access the fuel system and some ideas on how to check it.

Did this for a remote start it didn’t bypass it do you need to chip it to work ?

EWS bypass only works on OBD1 DME model years. The EWS bypass procedure only bypasses the DME also known as the engine control module. Under normal antitheft functions the EWS eeprom chip in the DME cuts fuel injector actuation ect... The EWS bypass removes this function. The EWS module behind the glovebox actually still needs to communicate with the chip in the key to allow the starter to work. Your remote starter control wire needs to be spliced in between the EWS module and starter not between the ignition switch and EWS module. You will want to look at the two large wires on pin 3 and pin 1 (yellow/black & green/black) on the EWS module plug. One of those wires feeds power to the starter solenoid.I believe it was pin 3 green/black that feeds directly to starter but please double check first. Can also do a google search "How to test your bmw EWS2 before replacing it" by RPM Motorsports. They show the EWS starter wires in their diagram

You can remove fuel pump with full tank of gas although the car should be on level ground first or make sure car is level before removal.

Have yall done like a swap out on the ews modules, in particular im trying to get an ews from a '99 323i to a 2000 z3 because the chip/transpondent from z3 fob is missing. Would it work if i dont swap the ignition cylinder hence door locks, just put the chip into the key, and the modules on the dash?

What if my car bogs down after hard acceleration? I could be driving the car completely fine, everything works well. However if I accelerate hard, it'll start to bog down real bad, and hitting the pedal won't give it any acceleration. Nothing. Then I have to pull over, and the idle will be real bad. It jumps from about 100-900 RPMs, and eventually shut off. After about 15 minutes, the RPMs even out and the car will seem to drive normally again.

Why are you not testing pressure just before it enters fuel rail. It’s more accurate because it’s after the fuel filter and closest to injectors. I believe there is ltessire drop.

If you need to replace valve stem seals, start by this video. Then go I continue with your video about the seals replacement. They never explain how to remove the stuff before accessing the valve springs. Or they do it with timing belt engines. Excellent video

What if im top dead center, cams are exactly as yours are but my locking pin seems to be hitting my flywheel ( no hole for the pin to go into) my car is manual swapped so the flywheel and clutch are not oem??

What if my car has no ews and i fit another engine that had ews, both bosch ecus only difference is my old engine was non vanos the new one is single vanos. The car cranks but doesnt fire do i need a red label ecu to make it work or is there a cheaper way?

Very helpful. I am currently having a crank, but no start on my 98 E36 M3. Planning on switching the fuel relay and main relay test next . I have replaced brand new (VDO) crank position sensor, but Engine continues to throw code P0335, which says ECU is not getting signal from crank position sensor. I suspect no ground signal from ECU to fuel relay as you pointed out. Any suggestions on what to check why ECU not getting signal from CPS?

Help, I have a E36 98 M3 S52 OBD II EWS. Started out with hard to start, seems like battery ran out. But finally turned over and started. This happened couple times . Then suddenly No crank no start. Battery is fully charged. I thought it’s the EWS module so I recently ordered a new DME from kassel performance with EWS delete. I plugged it in and got no crank no start. I assume the EWS is damaged so I bridge the two big wires on the EWS and got it to crank, but no start. Then I try unplugging the EWS and bridge the two wires, but still crank only no start. I have replaced the crank sensor and a use starter. Checked all fuses under the hood and all is good. When I turn the key to on position, I can hear that fuel pump prime. Any advice is much appreciated.

Thank you for your video, it helped a lot! Nevertheless on my 1998 e36 323 the fuel relay is not Nr1. 1. Auxiliary Pump 2. Fuel relay 3. Main ECU relay.

Thank you for posting this video. It is very methodical. In my case I have an E39 (M54), and the pressure reading I am getting at the fuel rail is around only 10-12 psi. The symptoms are hard start and dying at idle and low to no power. I would appreciate your feedback if you have any thought. Thank you.
