I love this kind of dynamic Wendy and Dipper has when I first got hooked in gravity falls back then. Wendy could easily tell Dipper has an obvious crush on her like most kids crushing on teenage celebrities, older schoolmate, or fictional character they're fan of from a show which is common as I was one too growing up; yet she doesn't let this affect their friendship onward. I was only a half a year younger than wendy when the show aired, but I would love to meet someone caring and badass like her in my life.

one thing i never understood is why didnt dipper just tell wendy something like "the ball might hit you by accident so watch out" instead of constantly trying to defy the laws of time

People act like Dipper is a saint and Mabel is evil. Dipper literally broke a promise with her and lied about being sick in the summerween episode because he was worried about what wendy would think Also, I think the reason there were double standards in the writing for dipper and mabel was that, and people often forget this, mabel and dipper and projections of Hersh and his sister. Obviously Hersh is going to be harder on himself than he is on his sister. Dipper is essentially teen Hersh and we all think our teen selves are cringe. Also if you want a real example of a toxic sibling relationship maybe, I don’t know, look at Stanly and Stanford.

She doesn’t constantly punch her sibling, she doesn’t bite her sibling, doesn’t force her sibling to carry her, doesn’t ask for her sibling to play with her then instantly change her mind and then start crying, and doesn’t laugh in frequencies only dogs should hear. Okay, maybe not that last one.

i was much more like mabel growing up, and my sister was like dipper. we grew further apart the older we got, but we still have a similar dynamic to the pines twins even now. we're about the same age too, so we were all too familiar with their sibling bond when gravity falls was still running i love both characters so much, it's such an accurate portrayal of living and being these kinds of kids

I feel like Wendy understood Dipper isn't a social bird which why she tends to hang out or bring him to hang out with her friends and reassures him that they're friends even if he confessed he had a crush, she'd understand Dipper isn't used to this sort of thing and is patient with him
