One way of fixing the archetype is focusing on black luster Soldier away from BE and DM. Here is an Idea: LINK-1 3000 Down arrow 1 Ritual or Non-Effect "Black Luster Soldier" monster. Cannot be used as a Link material. Face-up "Seed" Spell/Traps cards you control cannot be targeted or destroyed by card effects. If this card is Link summoned: you can add to your hand 1 card that mentions "Black Luster Soldier" monster(s) or 1 "Black Luster Soldier" monster from your Deck or GY. Once per turn (Quick Effect): if your opponent activates a card or effect you can negate that effect, and if you do, banish that card. You cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck or activate their effects the turn you activate either of these effects except "Black Luster Soldier" Monsters. The Original BLS is searchable by the field spell and Pre-prep. We can also use Ritual Foregone! This is the first “Seed” continuous spell, Rebirth Seed: You can only control 1 "Rebirth Seed". "Black Luster Soldier" monster(s) you control are unaffected by your opponent's card effects that do not target them. Apply these effects depending on "Black Luster Soldier" Monsters you control: ● Link: Once per turn: Special Summon 1 "Black Luster Soldier" Monster from your hand or GY or that is banished to a zone your "Black Luster Soldier" Monster points to ignoring its summoning conditions. ● Effect: The effects of "Black Luster Soldier" monsters you control can be activated as Quick Effects. ● Non-effect: "Black Luster Soldier" Monsters control cannot be switched nor they can be tributed by your opponent. ● Ritual: You can activate Trap cards that mention "Black Luster Soldier" Monster(s) directly from your hand. These two cards are crazy, they won’t break the deck and combined with the support you made they will be wonderful. They can work with both “Seed” and “Super Soldier” cards, and it gives the BLS Link 3 a place in its archetype.

Yeah I totally agree! BLS should stand as its own archetype without leaning on DM and Blue-Eyes. I really like your ideas! Especially making all BLS monster effects Quick Effects. That would definitely make the older cards much better and make some of them playable and pretty good!

I wouldn’t recommend adding Dark Paladin to this specific build since it would require running some Dark Magician cards, which would hurt the Deck’s consistency. I didn’t consider Dark Paladin while building this Deck, but I love the idea, it's such a cool monster! Maybe I should try making a Buster Blader/Dark Paladin focused Deck sometime 🙂

i would rework the ratios of the engine like having more than one terror top is point less especially when you run small world and can run unicorn in the deck and dont forget that speedroid likes running more than 40 cards since you have so many one ofs, dont forget that if you summon clear wing rider you should have already won

If you're referring to the Prologue of Destruction GY effect, it unfortunately cannot protect Buster Dragon or the Buster Blader Fusion, as it only protects 'Destruction Sword' cards. Destruction Sword Flash is another trap that could protect them, but it's way too situational and hard to set up. That's why I recommended in the combo section to wait for your opponent to commit something to the board before summoning, so they can't use cards like Impermanence or Lightning Storm on your Buster Blader and Buster Dragon. Another great way to protect them is by summoning Red-Eyes Black Fullmetal Dragon alongside them 🙂

As melodious duelist who build OTK melodious i suggest to keep Bloom Prima on ED, its twice attack + 300x any number melodious you fuse can come in handy for OTKing your opponent especially if you combine it effect with Bloom Harmonist which make your opponent can't trigger any effect during damage step. Melodious score or honest is also good addition because with it you can OTK even without clearing your opponent board.

another good thing about the BLS ritual build is the access to both Manju/Senju, which are Light monsters, and the ritual Djinn, which are Dark and dumpable with Foolish and help with fetching your ritual stuff and buffing up your ritual monster, and work with envoy of beginning too if you're desperate. granted, it's a bit of an older way to do it, and the little knights are still warriors, so they still benefit from ROTA and Allure, but even with that, it's like putting a bandaid on a bayonet wound.

Yeah Manju and Senju are currently both good options for sure! I play Manju in most BLS builds. But it says a lot about the current state of the deck that you still have to rely on 20+ year old consistency cards. I also like Diviner of the Herald + Arc Light to search Any Ritual Spell or Monster. It also makes it easy to summon a Chaos Angel :)

@@duelsanctuary funnily enough, I used to run a chaos deck that relied on summoning Demise and Ruin, using Manju and the few chaos card that existed in the old Yu Gi Oh GX Spirit caller game. And I splashed BLS in there. It was bricky, but somehow it worked

@@duelsanctuary mainly because they're a light/dark duo, even in a GOATS like format like the old games with how little support ritual monsters had, Demise is still a great monster, Ruin less, but it's more for the theming than anything else. If you're also lucky and like bricking yourself to oblivion you can run instant fusion (still at 3 copies back then) to get a free ritual tribute for a measily 1000 LP from level 1 to 5, which is a lot of old fusion monsters (even though thousand eyes restrict was banned back then)

Great video, i think adding better main deck monsters for searching spell/monsters can be great too, something similar to what gishki has where you can discard one to add a gishki ritual spell and discard another to add a ritual monster, this will also help with GY setup for your chaos plays and ritual summoning from the GY. I also think that leaning on the ritual aspect is so cool for the deck, BLS is such an iconic yu gi oh card and ritual summoning was always cool to me so i hope it can one day be the best ritual strategy in the game.

Yeah I agree! So many decks cheat Fusion Monsters out in ways that almost make them feel like a Link-1 and not a Fusion. I really like the playstyle of the Melodious deck, and other than Ostinato, the Fusion mechanic feels pretty good.

When it comes to the Metal cards, I incorporated it with Red-Eyes. Giving it a proper Boss monster that’s not Dragoon or Black Comet dragon. Also feels nice to have Red-Eyes have a Metal strategy once more

Cool! I haven’t had the time yet to try out the new Metalmorph cards in a Red-Eyes Deck, but it’s definitely something I want to experiment with in the future. And you're right, Fullmetal definitely feels more like a proper boss monster for Red-Eyes!

For combo 3, what would you do if you were given ultra hound instead of Duke? Would you still use Hound to ditch dupligate to the GY and go from there?

Yes! Send the Dupligate to the GY, and when you reborn the Red-Eyed Dice instead of changing Daiko Duke's level to 2, reduce the Ultra Hounds level to 1 so you can make Clear Wing Synchro Dragon :)

Thanks! I just added the deck list in the video's description. It’s not the exact list from this duel, but very close. It’s the one we used for the Metalmorph video, as I don’t have the original deck list anymore. We build these specifically for each video/matchup in mind. I was planning on doing a dedicated Flame Swordsman Deck Profile, but then they announced the new Flame Swordsman Metalmorph cards... So I'll probably delay that as we just started testing a new build that includes the upcoming Flame Swordsman cards set for release in Jan 2025. So, you can expect a full Deck Profile with explanations and combos around that time :)

Totally agree! These more casual designed archetypes are so much more fun when played pure. The duels still feel modern, but a bit slower and more variety, rather than just negate after negate.

Oh yeah I know! Exodia is the best example. Because the reason that deck can somewhat perform is because it can play a lot of unfun cards, like Shifter and Secret Village, which you really don’t wanna see in casual play. That's why we need 2 formats. The current advanced format where we can still see some cool stuff like that happen from time to time, and a lower powered format where these decks can be played as intended :)

Would Instant Fusion or Ready Fusion be too slow to drop out a Level 5+ Dragon or Fiend for Max Metalmorph or would that eat up too much space in our Extra Deck to even consider? I like those cards, so I look for any excuse to use them.

Those cards are definitely really cool! But I didn’t really think about them while working on the video, so these are just my initial thoughts without testing or trying to make them fit. I don’t think Extra Deck space would be the issue. Unfortunately I think they are be too slow because you can’t use them on turn 1 because Instant Fusion and Ready Fusion destroy the summoned monster in the End Phase. So you wouldn’t be able to tribute it with Max Metalmorph during the opponent’s turn. If we get future support that lets us summon one of the Metalmorph boss monsters on turn 1, it would be much easier to use Ready Fusion / Instant Fusion monsters to tribute.

There is, it's called the heart of the underdog. It's hard to get started but is fun but over time people start fighting about what over powered means and everyone gets upset and then they fight it ends. It's worse if you have goat/Edison/hat format people in the same card shop. They tend to sabotage it thinking it will make people want to play their format. And we all lose.

Quick question when it comes to max metalmorph given the way its effect is worded is it possible that you can actually tribute one of your opponents fiend or dragon monsters to bring out your Metal monsters... After all all the effect really says in the start is "tribute one face up monster"

Great question! The way Max Metalmorph is worded, it indeed says 'tribute one face-up monster,' which might seem like it could include your opponent's monsters. However, tributing a monster typically means you must control the monster unless the card specifically states otherwise (like Lava Golem for example). So in this case you can only tribute one of your own face-up monsters to activate Max Metalmorph's effect. I hope this helps!

There is synergy with Lair of Darkness actually. You get those dark tokens out and you can use them to get your Metal moms out IIRC. Throw in some Virud cards and three Diabolosis retrain (the good one from the SD) and the deck is pretty good. It's a budget alternative to Dragon Link/Bystial control as well.

For Master Duel, I'd recommend just adding 3 Maxx C. It's only one extra card since the Max Metalmorph cards aren't in the game yet. You don't have to run the typical negate Maxx C cards like Ash and Crossout because this deck can keep it's Special Summons in check under Maxx C.
