Nice pattern. I would have liked to see row 1 done after the row six. In other words how to knit the yarn over.

I only wish I had found your channel sooner! I took two classes at an LYS, but you're helping me put what I learned together and make it all more practical. Thank you for all you've done! 😉 I only hope my slow, clunky knitting will evolve like yours has! Best wishes for a happy, productive fall season!💜

So far, the sweater is coming along great, but I do have a question. I'm working on the first sleeve and the pattern says to do a decrease row and then 5 stockinette rows. I need to clarify if one stockinette row is considered 1 individual row of knitting OR purling OR if it actually consists of 2 rows together, one knit and one purl. I'm probably making this more complicated than it needs to be, but I'd really appreciate an answer. Thanks
@TheBlueMouseKnits2 күн бұрын
Hi, 1 stockinette row is 1 individual row. Purl on the WS and Knit on the RS. So if it says work 5 rows in stockinette that means 5 total rows. Hope that helps!

Hi Sweetheart, never seen you before, but I’m glad your wee face popped. Where have you been hiding. 💋 I love your short sleeve Sweater,so darn cute,,& so detailed. The hat you made will be great for my Son & his wife.They take off on their bike, when the weather is good. We live in Vancouver British Columbia, & they’ve travelled all over. I usually buy from Etsy, but I don’t know what to ask for! Can you help me out with ordering your patterns. Your little tunic is just so gorgeous. Thank you so much. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🥰🏴🇨🇦PS I have subscribed, and I’ll be watching for you again. 🥰

Your video was a lifesaver! As someone else said it is the only video I could find for undoing a bind off row. I had started binding off in a 1x1 ribbing but didn't like the look I was getting. Your video helped because it showed undoing both the knit and purl bind offs. I just alternated watching each one and was able to successfully tink out my bind off stitches! Thank you so much!

Beautiful patterns, what pattern was the black cardigan you wore in the video?
@TheBlueMouseKnits4 күн бұрын
Thank you so so much! The black cardigan is actually from target. It's 100% cotton which is so rare to find in stores anymore, it's the universal thread brand. Not sponsored or anything, but I've bought 4 of them over the past few years and wear them almost every day, they're super comfy!

So when I do this increase let’s say the pattern says K3, LLI. Am I increasing on the 3rd stitch or knitting once more and increasing what is technically the 4th stitch?
@TheBlueMouseKnits2 күн бұрын
It depends on the pattern you're following. I find that most patterns use the increase as a full stitch too, so k3, LLI would be into the 4th stitch, but hopefully it will tell you in the pattern notes. I prefer to separate the stitch from the increase when writing patterns, but usually they're paired together as 1 full stitch.

This tutorial is amazing! I am making it for my niece who will be born in December. I do have a question about the yarn though, if I use the Yarn Bee Sugarwheel yarn that is the acrylic not the cotton (color pattern is called Crocus in Focus) do you still recommend using size US 5 needles like the instructions say for the cotton yarn? The label on the yarn suggests US 8 but when I started the first few rows it seemed like I should use smaller. What do you suggest?
@TheBlueMouseKnits5 күн бұрын
Hi, the cotton yarn is a thinner yarn than the acrylic version; the cotton yarn is a Light/DK (#3) and the acrylic is a Medium/Worsted (#4). You can definitely still knit the blanket using the acrylic yarn, especially since the cotton version has been discontinued (in solid colors at least). There are a few things to consider about it though: - 1.) I would suggest knitting a small swatch to see if you like how the size 8 needle goes with the yarn. If it feels too loose and open of a fabric, then you can go down a size or two to fix that. - 2.) Also the blanket will end up being larger than the patterns because the yarn you are using is thicker and the needle is larger which will create larger stitches making a larger blanket overall. If you want a smaller blanket to compensate for that, you can cast on less stitches (lessen by multiples of 6 sts). - 3.) Similarly if you want to shorten the blanket, you can work less repeats of the stitch pattern. Hope that helps!

I was very grateful to find your easy-to-follow tutorial. I tied my knot and knitted on my merry way around my sock, but 3 rows later, the knot is coming undone. I shall have to undo those rows and retie the knot. Please can you advise on what might have gone wrong, so I can prevent a repeat?
@TheBlueMouseKnits2 күн бұрын
Hmm I’m not sure. It’s possible the yarn is too slippery or maybe the knots were tight enough. What kind of yarn are you using? If it has any silk or bamboo in it that may make it a bit slippery for the knot.

What I find confusing and is generally glossed over in these tutorials is the impact of odd or even number cast in stitches and what one needs to do on the first and last stitches. Your video made this more understandable. I’ll keep trying.
