Why'd they have to use Godzilla's roar??

This is why I don't have respect for most pure-blood Vulcans. They claim to embrace logic, and then they use it to cover their prejudice against half-breeds. Then they wrongfully blame the child instead of holding the bullies accountable. In many ways, the Vulcans are no better than the Romulans.

"Beyond the Farthest Star" was the premiere of ST:TAS, on September 8, 1973. It is a terrific episode. The use of life-support belts by the crew was an intriguing science fiction concept for the show and eliminated the need for spacesuits. The force field from the life-support belt had to be enormously powerful in order to allow the users to breathe, be shielded from all types of radiations, protected from the icy cold of outer space, and create artificial gravity. I wondered with such a formidable aura surrounding the wearer, how were the tricorders, communicators, and phasers able to successfully operate within the aura? Wouldn't the aura create severe interference with such technology, or even render them entirely useless?

This one clip from the episode, already got me the creeps… I’d done an ‘Eddie Murphy attitude response’ and said: “Yo, man… that funny noise she went make is spooky, man… something’s nasty is going down… let’s get the funk outta hea!” 😄😁

The creators of this show is the legendary creators of the very FIRST Batman cartoon in history. Even more famous for the Academy award that was won and even more renowned for being the creator of the globally famous HE MAN cartoon.

The episode Catspaw all the bridge crew beams down to the planet except Chekov and Uhura. Chekov was an Ensign and Uhura was a Lieutenant. As the highest ranking bridge officer Uhura should of taken command. But they brought in a guest star to take command instead. That must of really pissed Nichelle off. It was a totally stupid episode but if they would of given Uhura command it would of been great for that single reason.

The Stoics would say that this is a mismatch of expectation with reality. Epictetus in particular suggests that life be viewed as a party. No one weeps when he has to leave a party. It is simply a natural thing to happen, and perhaps better to happen before the party becomes stale. Instead, thank the host and wish everyone well on the way out. Leave them all smiling. And maybe you'll see them all at the next party. You never know.

I guess it's because it's 2024 now, but I don't see why this is so extraordinary. Uhura was a bridge officer and a lieutenant. Assuming Lt. Sulu outranked her, Uhura should have been fifth in command of the Enterprise by my estimation.

The computer voice is Nichelle and not Majel. It's an unusual anomaly that a white woman has a lower pitched voice than a black woman.

Filmation's cheap animation doesn't leave room for much subtlety, but at 1:10 Theela sheds a single tear. She doesn't want to kill them, they're just trying to survive.

2:00 Nichelle Nichols (computer) followed by Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura) calling Nichelle Nichols (Security Officer Davison). When she passed away in 2022, I dusted off this episode to watch it.

I remember reading in "The Making of Star Trek," by David Gerrold that the command hierarchy for the Enterprise put Lt. Uhura in 4th place due to her being Department Head for Communications and Computer Systems as well as having qualified as OOD. So the Command order was Kirk, Spock, Scotty and Uhura. Too bad TOS never used this bit of BG canon.

It may be Spock's duty but the LOGICAL thing to do would send the adult who is much faster, IF saving him is more important than you fulfilling your duty or whatever. In fact it could be said that that is what HUMANS would do worry more about oneself and honor or whatever than getting the job done and saving someone. Remember when ADULT Spock had no problem in one movie to be demoted because he had no ego to bruise? If Adult Spock knows this did not happen, then he should be especially adamant about avoiding this disaster. It is not like he remembers him doing it and failing or succeeding, preserving the timeline. And how much earlier did the Sehlat die? Why did Spock worry so much about the date if this didn't happen? What is the narrative point of having him CHANGE the death of this old animal which would CHANGE young Spock A LOT? Why not have this as part of the original timeline? Of course in any case, original timeline or new timeline, Spock should realise how stupid it was to go instead of the adult.

Reminds me of when I lost my cat, at first when my mum took her I hated her cause she took her without asking me, and I was mad at the cat cause I wanted a dog, yeah pretty childish, as if it was the cat's fault that she was Born a cat, but then I grew attached, I was little, I'm not even sure what she died of, I remember at the hospital, no one wanted to enter and watch her die, yet I did, I wouldn't have abandoned her in that awful moment, I remember I felt my heart heavy and aching, for some reason I couldn't shed a tear, still I felt so much pain, for the next 4/5 months I passed my time in my bed, I wouldn't eat, I wouldn't drink, I wanted to die, they had to take me to the hospital where I was diagnosed with depression, and every time I see this clip I cry like a baby
