Only problem with glueing on the wrap is if the wrap ever fails the plastic cover will go off with the wrap.

You just have to use a blade to cut it off of the antenna the way you cut it off of the roof.

@@ReimaginedWraps I was actually refering to the time if the wrap fails or cracks. Then the water will be able to get in underneath the wrap and into the car and the expensive module. Might be a good idea to gut the wrap just outside of were the glue will be. Just as a precaution against the water. Anyway. Thanks for the tip. Helped me remove the cover of a 2018 g31

Ohh i see, great consideration! Its worth it to take the extra precaution to clean thoroughly around the antenna and make sure it is heat checked and sticking properly before the antenna is installed. In the many years that i have used this method i have had no issues with the wrap lifting underneath the antenna. Its is also covered by the antenna so it is not exposed to the elements under that small section if glues properly. It can always happen though and great to consider and keep an eye on.

Was going to go with sealant but i was worried about the back spacing of the cam and crank. The case is what holds the back end of the shafts into the engine. The gasket thickness is specific in that sense
@frosthoe
@frosthoe 7 ай бұрын
dont drag seals across rust, it ruins then the very first time you do it the lips are scratched. ALWAYS, wire brush, sand gently, or wipe with oily rag. and only remove on aan oiled shaft. dont be shy, oils cheap. Go easy coax it off, then before assembly Emory or 1000 grit it til smoth-ish. Not too much be sparing, and NEVER sand or wire the shaft and seal lip interface area. Old performance machinist here. Best wishes. Ps those stock connecting rods suck, be careful! They are made from hopes, dreams, and cost cutting measures. AKA nearly useless for real performance. They WILL fail without an Rpm limit..Wiseco proforged pistons rings pins clips and some decent Cro Mo beam rods, and a stud kit will save the entire engine. PsPS only run 100% synthetic oil. ...Dang I left a graveyard of Briggs and IH back then... I once tried to run nitrous on a briggs with no added fuel. Blowtorch Briggs go screeeee clank a clunka and shot sparklers out the exhaust. I was 13...I didnt know it needed fuel too...lol

I was looking this up because my radio antenna is not working at all in my E82 128i, so I bought a used antenna module on eBay for $25. I wish I could afford a carbon fiber shark fin for my car before I attempt to replace the module. I tried to reprogram the antenna when I still had the OEM stereo in my car and it just said "ERROR" when it came to antenna part. My factory BMW Professional stereo had Bluetooth to make phone calls, but if I wanted to play music from my phone I had to use an aux cable, so I bought the double din bezel and installed a 7" touchscreen, I also swapped stereos because I have a set of Sundown Audio 12" subs in my trunk and a Sundown SAI-1750D Intelligent amp.
