can you put the date on the photo/video?

I purchased the E-500 new in 2005. Took a lot of pictures with it over the years. I even modified it around 2009 with a split prism focusing screen so I could do manual focus work, especially with the Sigma 30mm f1.4 lens that I used with the camera a lot. I have some pretty fond memories with that camera. It was my primary shooter until I bought the Nikon D7000 in early 2011. I now primarily shoot Sony full-frame, but I love going back to that Olympus once in a while.

I never take pictures on a cell phone. I have a Canon ELPH 190 IS. I like the photos that I take with the Canon better then those taken on a phone. It is a shame that no one wants to use a camera any more.

Just bought a E-520 with lense kit. Noob photographer here and want to learn how to take quality photos. This camera will teach me that before I move on and invest in better equipment.

Hey, if you keep posting those kinds of images folks won't even believe you shot them with an E-500 at all! I had one, and enjoy remembering my daughter in law loving that camera and running all over the place shooting everything in sight. So, I gave her the complete original kit. That tripped her out. I had an E-510 by then too, but the only thing that has over the E500 (to me) is its image stabilization. Some of the best shots I have ever taken were with the E-500. $150 for the whole kit? STEAL!

I like so much to shoot sometimes with my Nikon D200 latest and cheap Nikon CCD good camera..

I remember when I was looking for my first digicam (back when these were new) this camera was regarded as the highest quality Fuji camera. Well, this one, and that big 10x zoom bridge camera.

Bought one new in 2007. Still takes amazing photographs. I like taking IR photos with nothing more than an R72 filter in front of it.

The community for old cameras is great, even making the camera better. These things were expensive at launch and the value shows. Unlike modern "digicams"

I have this camera amongst my collection of dslrs,in fact this was my very first,i own half a dozen Canon dslrs and numerous L lenses too but i still love shooting this old camera its just so lightweight & i love the images it can produce. It was out with me yesterday & again today in June of 2024

just got one from an ebay sale! unfortunately it was $117. But it included two XD cards and I know those are super rare and expensive now

Hey! I have a problem, what happens is that I do all the steps for RAW mode, however when I take photos and transfer them to my PC, these photos look very small, an approximate size of 126x98. and JPEG photos look normal size. Even though RAW photos look tiny, these photos weigh more than JPEGs

I bought this camera with my wife a few years ago. I really want to give it a new try in my next tríp.

I have the Olympus E-500 and the E-400 which is 10 megapixel and also has the Kodak sensor, personally I think the E-400 (which is the successor, yes Kodak is counting back) is slightly better than the E-500.

I still have the original E1. Great camera.

The problem I encounter is that whyyyy are there so many of them? How should I choose one lol

I just picked up this camera from a local thrift store this week, and I've been really pleased with the quality of photos you can get out of it so far when shooting RAW. I wish I could get CHDK bootable on a card larger than 4GB since having to do the firmware update bit every time really bogs down the shooting experience when I'm out and about, but other than that it's really nice. 14 megapixels on a CCD produces really nice colours and has plenty of resolution for cropping. Anyway thanks for the video! I had actually watched it a while back so it was neat to revisit after actually using this camera for myself. I hope to see more from you soon. :)

Well executed! Beautiful images. If I may, the low frequencies in the music are clipping during the montage. I bet you have that sorted out by now.

Your processing is amazing, and very nostalgic/film like. Could you show how you processed some of those images such as the red car etc. Do you ad the vignetting? The nostalgic look to your photos surely has a lot to do with how you process them. That would be so awesome. Great video! : )

Um... when I check online, the E550 is listed as having a CMOS sensor, not SuperCCD. The previous gen E300 with 12MP had SuperCCD but no RAW. Can someone check me on this? Great camera none the less.

Have any other e500 owners on here had a problem with the camera capturing deep purple colors? I’ve always wondered if in my case it was intrinsic to the camera or due to a hard drop and extensive repair that happened shortly after I got the camera. Other than that, I have found it to be great camera over the years.

I have two Olympus E500 camera bodies one with a wide angle and the other with a telephoto lens 99% of the pics I shoot or of live entertainment at night usually with colored stage lights in the background! Using an external flash what setting, f-stop & ISO shutter speed do you reccomend recommend?

I have this camera and many other cameras of different brands, the colors are nice, but if you enjoy the camera shooting experience, I’d say Fujifilm mirror less takes the cake.

Ok, now im obsessed. I just have to get a e300 or e500.

Thanks for standing up for this s*itty little camera. I can't afford an expensive camera but enjoy degicams for their portability and fun factors. The pixilation makes it look almost grainy when printed. Which reminds me of old film prints. Look forward to possible other digicams on your channel.
