Tip also for the Tokyo Government Metropolitan building there is also a food level (If I remember right floor 32) that is open to the public but is inside the secured areas so in the north tower lobby just check with the security desk and they will get you a visitor pass where you can go and get lunch with a great view. Meals are extremely reasonable and while the choice was better pre pandemic it is still great and the views as you eat are great also!

@@cakeswithfaces yeah just have to be there early as the seating is free for all and the windows tend to go fast! But there's several dining areas on the floor so always a back up in case one has all the windows taken might find some on another room with another great view. Most if not all dishes are less then 1500 yen and some even less then 1000 yen last time were there few years ago

Hello! Is this elderly friendly? I will be in Kyoto in April next year with my 72 yo mum. I wonder if we can add this to the itinerary since we have been to Kansai before and visited the usual sites. This would be something new to us. Thank you!

I think the only issue would be getting in/out of the boat. You can see the boarding point here, where you have to step down into the boats: maps.app.goo.gl/f3Tierp9k5CHLWEh7 The seats are wooden benches with no backs. I think otherwise it'd be fine - the white water sections are like a little rush, not rough white water rafting, and most of the ride is gentle and relaxing.

Hello, I'm just curious if you know anything about TCAT in Tokyo? I'm just wondering why Japan youtubers never mention it?
@cakeswithfaces3 күн бұрын
I don't really hear much about TCAT - probably because the options for trains are so good (frequent, clean and on time), and run to various destinations around Tokyo from both airports. But if you prefer, limousine buses from the airports can be easier when you're travelling with luggage. They run to certain hotels and major stations, which for most people would be more convenient locations than TCAT, but it depends where you're staying.

It's my fav!! 💖 It'll be easier for you to find places to eat as you're all veggie (for me, travelling with a meat-eater makes it very tricky as most regular restaurants don't have veggie options). I found this arcade to be very underwhelming. There were barely any actual games to play. Seemed more like a nightclub/bar. A Namco arcade without the original Pac Man machine seems like a waste. I'd recommend skipping this place and hit up Mikado Game Center instead.

I've been meaning to make a video about finding bathrooms in Japan! 😂 It's rarely a problem though! Stations, malls and department stores always have bathrooms. I found Google Maps to be very capable to navigate Tokyo's metro/transit network. It can calculate multiple possible routes with fare prices and guide you to the right platforms, transfer gates and exits. Along with the consistent color coded signage, even Shinjuku It even tells you which train car is closest to the staircase you will need to take. Google Maps also has multi-level maps of most major stations, malls and complexes in Tokyo. Although I can't remember if it had reliable live delay information, but that's no big loss in Japan.

How do I know the seats have extra space for luggage? Or do you just mean the seats at the back of the carriage? Thank you for this super helpful video!

In most trains, it's the seats at the back of the carriage. However, some trains have a luggage rack instead. If you select the option for seats with luggage, you'll know you've got them for sure.

I’m not sure premium economy is justified since you pay twice the economy, and you get an extra inch seat width and two inches legroom. Meal is basically the same. You get boarding after business class. Only if your next flight is on JAL (not codeshare with other airline) will you get Shakura lounge.
@cakeswithfaces9 күн бұрын
That's what I'd always thought! Really the standard is what you wish economy was, so it can be hard to justify the extra cost - but very occasionally there's a good deal where it's not quite so much more for premium.
@waynelast16859 күн бұрын
@@cakeswithfaces you can upgrade from economy at a good cost and get all the perks except lounge access even if JAL is your next plane.
