When I take the grandkids we use the micro . They catch tons of fish . Yellow perch and crappie and bass. If it swims it will bite at the micro. I only leave the tail hook on . I remove the other one.

that is a clinch knot a trilene knot you have to put the tag end through the hook loop twice then rap it around like a clinch knot and put the tag line trough the 2 loops at the hook loop other then that great combo selections for beginner fisherman i also started out on spin cast combos then spinning and bait caster combo

Just to catch fish. The Panther Martin spinnerbait is hard to beat. It catches anything that swims.

The greatest bass fishing lure ever invented is a two way tie between a 7” Texas rig plastic worm (June Bug) and a skirted jig/trailer (black/blue). They are the most versatile with the most possible presentations. Along the bottom, slung in the slop, or swimming through the water column, you just can’t go wrong with them.
