I'm watching/listening at work, so I may have missed it, but you could cover zombie pathing AI re: relative elevation of the player.

I did discuss the pathing AI though I didn't explicitly talk about relative elevation. Some of my later designs in the video exploit relative elevation without specifically calling it out but that is a good point you made :)

is a zombie horde base with bars as a floor still reliable ? years ago i always used this tactic to shoot down on Z's and never really gave me a headache other then the ammo limit and no melee possible. turrets when available where also used in specific spots to help tame hordes and other traps as well.
@pseudoposse11 сағат бұрын
If cops get under you, prepare to eat a lot of cop spit. You might try replacing the bars with scaffold. That might work :)

Day 21, new to 1.0 (played a lot years ago), horde night. Basically just staying alive on top of a POI that I fixed up a bit for horde night. Horde has been going on for awhile and out of nowhere appears a huge, fast beast... completely unknown to me. A dire wolf apparently. After nailing it with many an arrow and some of the little 7.76 that I had, I was interested to see what it would take to kill it. It was at that point that another dire wolf showed up. Trying to kill the damn things I fell off the roof... twice. Very fortunate and quick to place blocks I scrambled back up on the roof without taking damage but man, my posterior was puckered water tight. Damn those things are fierce. If I run into one in a POI I'll probably soil myself, alt+f4 and scream like a little girl. Thanks for the great video, liked and subbed!

Noobs teaching pro players with nothing new just to get views/free money from youtube which is now scarce at all. Try switching career lol or you will starve soon 😛 . Maybe the money is enough for buying a new game or ingame item but it won't let you survive unless you reach 2M subs/viewers. Just quit lol and focus on real job that supports planet earth.

I don't remember what version but I remember at one point there was a limit how high you could pillar up before it fails... it was a long time ago but I do roughly remember a time where I was pillaring up only for it to fail and no there were no zombies around at the time.
@pseudoposseКүн бұрын
I can't recall, but it certainly isn't that way anymore. As long as you build vertically, you can build all the way to the upper limit.

By default, the horde comes every 7 days. Hence 7 days to die 😉. You can change that in the game settings.

I love a well built horde base, you can really grind xp with them but i prefer mega crush, recog, fortbites, lots of water and parkour 4 and you can just run around with your choice of gun. I like to dig a big pit to lead groups into then parkour out and throw contact nades in. Add a few places with smg auto turrets on a raised platform you can repair and redose the meds. You dont need a base, just learn the area and add a few traps to run though.
@pseudoposseКүн бұрын
That will definitely do the trick! What do you like to do for the early game before you get all the consumables, maxed parkour, guns, grenades, etc.?

@@pseudoposse awesome, thanks! I'll give those a watch. I had a good bit of fun last hoard using the ladder base. but...no good for dogs. [do you happen to know if in the current release if they updated loot bags to NOT DESPAWN before morning? I've gotten tired of modding the XML's to extend the "keepalive" timer...
@pseudoposse12 сағат бұрын
@@TizonaAmanthia I actually haven't had a chance to really play the actual game as intended since the 1.0 release so I haven't really experienced how long the loot bags will last. I'll have to test that out :) Quite true, the ladder bases are not good for dogs so you need to either make another way for them to reach you (if you make ladder short path, and another non-ladder path that is longer, zombies will still climb ladder, but dogs will go other route) or find a way to eliminate them yourself via pipe bombs, shooting at them, etc.
@TizonaAmanthia6 сағат бұрын
@@pseudoposse yeah, I might get a few dogs on my day 14 but I'm doin' fine, I might add some balconies to shoot zombies from, if they get around the base. but hopefully I'll have a crawler base set up for the 21, which I expect will have more dogs. [that said, if late game zombie bears are a problem I may still need a secondary path for them....*ponder*
