It is foam board. You can find it at Dollar Tree or Walmart.

How can you calculate the finish size on the diagonally cut blocks.

I love the large blue hanging light that you have. Where did you buy it? I have the small light that attaches to the machine by magnet on my 1181 (I also have a smaller Ottlite), but I need another larger light like the one that you have. 😀 Thanks for the video.

Hello, I’m a beginner and just finished a disappearing 9 patch quilt. I did the simple pattern where you rotate the squares 180 degrees. I also tried to do diagonal cuts after. Urticaria f the Ay h horizontally and vertical. The first block turned out ok but when I tried to do the second block I kept getting lost as to where to show the triangles. I also learned that the more seams the smaller your block gets 🤪🤦🏻♀️😂. So you have to commit to using the same pattern or ones that will end up close to the same size. I wanted to do different pattern blocks but I would have had to figure out how to make them all work together. Don’t have the knowledge or want to spend the time to do so. But one thing that I enjoyed doing with this quilt top is being able to chain piece. Eventually the quilt top turned out ok. Now I have to put a border and finish it. Having a blast 💥.

I really like the star center I've made several very showy table-top, square runners with that one. It goes together quickly and it's a great gift, especially when you know a person's color schemes in their home. I would LUV to share some pictures with you. How do I do that?

I get value from your comparing the two types of ironing surfaces. When it start looking bad you could watch Professor Pincusion’s and just make a washable cover for it. So you would not need to take the staple out and keep it looking once.

I don’t want to grow up to be a quilter! Even though I’ve made three and have pans for three more. I’d rather sew garments.

You said the walking foot was kind of in the way when you were sewing the gusset on, can the walking foot be taken off while you are sewing the gusset on?

I add a little bit of fabric to some of the sides, like #3, where there is hardly any seam allowance it is a quick and fun quilt.

Thank you! You just solved various problems I have been working on for a week. I live in Arizona in a very small house, no room inside for a permanent cutting table and now that it has hit 105 degrees and will soon be 115 and above I started looking for something portable. Since I am 67 and tall and have no business trying to cut on the floor, I knew I needed something light weight like a folding table but they were all at eating height not standing height. I gave up for a few days dejected, now I have my answers and it is so simple. Thanks to you I won't have to stop learning to sew over the summer.❤

Insulate and those types of products actually reflect the heat back to the source it came from . It doesn’t “keep it out”, it bounces it back instead of letting it seep through

I use a glass piece under my wool pressing mat and that keeps the moisture from leaking onto the surface below. I realize glass is breakable but it does a fantastic job of containing the moisture so I am just very careful if I take it somewhere . Works great

Do you prefer not using batting in between fabric squares even when making both sides flannel. Will you still get a nice puffy look without the batting with using three layers of flannel? Thank you loved the tutorial .

Why did you not just use the wool mat on the board?
@daisythompson52053 ай бұрын
if you don't have a rotating mat you could use a smaller mat and carefully rotate it when cutting the assembled 4 patch.

Hi I just purchased the same machine as you from Sewing Gold and was wondering if you could tell me where I could purchase the blue light that you have on your machine. Thank you! You did a great job explaining everything about the machine on your video, because of you I made the decision to buy the Juki 1181 N. I am so happy that I did! Thank you again! Susan😀

Thank you for sharing your tips . The ironing board where we live, is built into the wall and the padding has worn down. The issue is non of the ironing pads I've found seem to fit, they are too large/wide. But with this guide, I can possibly make my own now 😊
