I purchased photo mounting boards which have adhesive on one side....no gluing of batting just peal and stick.....they have them at most craft stores....I also used fun duck tape on the edges....love these boards.

i've purchased low side rectangle baskets from dollar store, making firm fabric interfacing liner, so i have edges to my project board. i like baskets to keep my projects separate, saw when buying glasses how they had little trays to keep the orders separate....ever since i've had project baskets, helps me put them in a priority order to.

I've never used foam board as I've been doing my boards from corrugated cardboard boxes. I use either felt or cotton batting to cover one side. Elmer's Glue is what I use to adhere the batting to the cardboard square. After it's dry, I trim around the edges with a razor blade. I don't bother binding the edges as I make sure that the batting is well glued around the square. And I'm lazy. I tried duck tape, but that was just too much to fuss with. And they are great for carrying and storing pieces in progress, as you have described. I have 12", 14", 18" squares.

Love this great idea for repurposing cardboard boxes we all get when we order in-line, etc., instead of buying core board. Cardboard is made of natural products and is biodegradable, while coreboard is mostly (if not all) a man made product.

Before I found your video I made my own out of boxes from Christmas. I sprayed glue on the board, layed my batting down then attach the fabric I cut out to cover the back with 2 inches wider all the way around. Then folded the fabric twice then used heat bond to glue the fabric as the boarder on the front. I like the board you are making too. I'll have to give it a try.

Sue Jameson Hi Sue So how do you use the duct tape. I'm no fan of the hot glue lumps. Of course, I have a very old large industrial glue gun! LOLOL So no tidiness there. But I love duct tape, and I'd love to know of another use! Thank you.
@suejameson1517
@suejameson1517 4 жыл бұрын
@@cheryl8280 you spray baste the batting to the foam core board and cut around it exactly. Then get your pretty duct tape and lay a piece at the top of the board covering about half an inch and fold it to the back of the board. Do the same at the bottom edge, then the two sides. It works like a charm and you have exactly the same look as Lori’s board but tape not fabric! Good luck

@@suejameson1517 Well, what a neat trick! Thank you so much for that tip. It's not like I'm giving these boards away. They're just for my use. Now, by pretty duct tape, you mean the variety of colours, not patterned, right? I've never seen patterned duct tape, but wouldn't that be a hoot! The boys wouldn't like it, but we would. Thanks again, Sue.
