Guys don't do what he did. Get yourself a pair of Tonda floor jack rubber pad that is 4.92in wide, it'll fit the old Pittsburg up to 2020. Not sure HF still sell them. It'll fit his jack for sure. As a rule, I never like jacking up at pitched weld. I always jack from subframe center front and back, then do a 3 point lift from front to back or vice versa, never going left to right which creates unbalanced load. This method has its draw back but pitched weld is not intended for floor jack, it's designed for shop lifts. I have too many cowboy mechanics using floor jack on my pitched weld and they made them crooked and it's always upsetting to look at.

Thanks for posting this. This is how we all learn. Three learning points: 1) do no jack while using ramps. You can ramp one end and then eventually replace with good jack stands, but using a ramp invites rocking when jacking. It’s dangerous. 2) floor jacks are designed to roll a bit to support the load while lifting so use on smooth concrete only. If jacking on a rough surface as shown in the video, place a large piece of plywood or metal plate to allow the jack to move a bit. 3) as mentioned use the hockey pucks for playing hockey. Building yourself a dedicated extension (wood) will be more stable than free stacking found objects. Your safety and life is on the line.

Nah man there’s proper pucks for your situation. I won’t and say I wouldn’t have tried something similar if I didn’t have time to wait for that to come in the mail but I would’ve tried something with more surface area like wood.

This is the best and correct tutorial that I used when doing my F10 M5 filters. No need to mess with the battery, easy 40 minute job. Still easier than a P3 Volvo cabin filter where you have to move two fuseboxes. Trust me

What did you need those 2 pucks and that ZL1 red plastic? It looked completely unsafe! The standard jack metal center and 1 hockey puck was more than enough to avoid the slipping off! I don't understand why are you trying to explain? No excuses, you really screwed it up!

It’s not so much that you aren’t making GABA. Benzodiazepines are positive allosteric modulators of inhibitory GABA chloride channels located in the post synaptic side of synapses. Any PAM of GABA receptors, like ethanol, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, Z drugs, some GABA analogs, general anesthetics, and some psychoactive steroids, increase the channel’s sensitivity to your own GABA, and delays closing of the chloride channel causing more chloride influx. PAM’s do not bind to the GABA binding sites on the chloride channels, they have their own sites located at different locations on/in the chloride channels. Without natural GABA, PAM’s would have no effect. To try and maintain equilibrium, the CNS reduces/down regulates the number of GABA chloride channels in the post synaptic end plates. In withdrawal, there aren’t enough chloride channels, and those that are there are now less sensitive to GABA without the PAM, and it results in not enough chloride influx into the cells. It’s a different process from receptor agonists that bind to neurotransmitter receptor sites thus activating them, and reuptake inhibitors that delay reuptake of the neurotransmitter back into the presynaptic end plate, and come with their own similar tolerance/dependencies where the CNS reduces the number of those channels to maintain equilibrium. Apparently the mammalian CNS doesn’t like being out of equilibrium for long. Too bad there isn’t a way to prevent receptor down regulation, then there would be no tolerance, and milder withdrawals, but knowing our luck whatever drug prevents down regulation would be habit forming somehow.

1 dont use multiple hockey pucks. you used 3 total things on your jack, that is crazy of course it slipped. use only 1. Number 2, that carbon fiber style side skirt is after market? because that made it really hard to get under it and reach the pinch weld and I cant see toyota designing it like that, next time dont put after market crap that makes thing like using a basic jack that difficult.

@TabsT-vy5jy17 күн бұрын
Heres the reasons: 1) The floor is like the surface of the moon. 2) The car is tilted forward from your rear being on ramps. 3) You used two hockey pucks instead of 1 large pice of wood or something. 4) Also the easterly winds blow to the m=north not the west after a summer.

Wheels on that jack and messed up concrete are a problem too. Wheels won't roll properly.
@mrquique222 күн бұрын
This is simple physics but you can try it with something else besides your car, a heavy bin or wood plank for example. For every degree of inclination, you need to exercise more force and the stress on the lifting point is greater. Lifting the car like you did by having the back side on ramps, is an incline sufficiently angled as to multiply the force needed to lift it and to stress the lifting point of the car. The slipping contributed and aggravated the inertia, but was not the main factor.
