I did like The God of the Woods. I think the main reason I liked it was I liked a couple of the characters. I have The Final Girls Support Group and Butcher and Blackbird to read. My worst book of 2024 was Midnight Sun by Stephenie Mayer

Most people I know have actually enjoyed The God of the Woods. I guess it’s really only a matter of personal taste - I just hate that kind of twists 🤷🏻♀️ I hope you enjoy Butcher and Blackbird and The Final Girl Support Group more than I did! 😊

Hi Saphi, greetings again from Toronto 🇨🇦. I hope you are well. Great video, so many titles for my TBR notebook! Love your T-shirt BTW. I’m surprised you didn’t like J.H. Markert. I’m half-way through his The Nightmare Man and I think it’s fantastic. I’ve tried Stephen Graham Jones a few times and I just can’t get into his writing style. Read Hell House now! Not only is it a classic, it’s one of the best haunted house novels ever written. It’s a personal favourite. Syn from Syn’s Book Nook spent a whole video on The Book of Witching. Take care and good reading to you in 2005

I read Hell House years ago. I do think it's a great Haunted House novel. I read Penpal in the last year or 2. I liked it a lot. It is pretty scary. I saw Tool 3 times. The last time was years ago though. The last book I bought was The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore

On the subject of Icelandic literature, have you read any books by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir? I have two of the books from the Freyja and Huldar series (The Legacy and The Absolution.) Despite being a huge fan of Nordic noir and Scandinavian crime mysteries, I couldn't get into either of them and I stopped reading a few chapters in, but I'm definitely keen to hear opinions on them from other readers. 🙂 Terrifier 2 is very different in style and tone to the first Terrifier, so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on that. I was also trying to work out which Stephen King books you have on the shelves behind you. With King, it's always his name on the spine with the titles in the tiny font. 😅
@saphi.is.a.bookworm2 ай бұрын
Hi! Yes, I have read a few books by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, I’ve read DNA and Ashes to Dust if I remember correctly. I should totally read more by her, both were pretty dark as far as mystery/thrillers go 😊 I still haven’t been able to see Terrifier 2, but I’m planning on watching it this week! The Stephen King books on my shelves are: Pet Sematary, Sleeping Beauties, The Stand, The Bachman Books, Misery, The Mist, ‘Salem’s Lot, IT and Carrie. I have more back at my parents’ place, cause that’s where I started reading King, but now I’m just trying to collect (and read, obviously) all of the new Hodder editions 😊
