Whatever you do. Don't by the Body Glove Phoenix 3mm. There are no straps to control water intake and fill up like water balloons. They damaged the tendons in my front foot. When I went to stand all the water rushed forward as I stood up. The tip caught the wax on my board and bent my foot all the way forward. Hurt like hell. It's like hydraulics, the water helped gave it more pressure and acted like an opposing force and didn't allow me to correct it. When I took them off I couldn't believe how much water had entered. next day my foot was black and blue. So I had to make some drain holes and buy some velcro strap's. But I still don't trust them. Easier to just get rid of them. I like Van's shoes too, been wearing them for 45 years at least. I think I'm gonna try these. The Body Gloves are useless for surfing. Thanks for your honest assessment.

What time of year was this?

I first started surfing that stretch of coast in Sept. of 1969. Long, long before Richard built the hostel. The ship had run aground in1982 think? Zero houses at the wreck and ditto at Casas. At the wreck on a winter northwest swell it'll break out so far that you eventually give up, turn around and ride forever. It's real easy wave on either swell. The wreck broke up the swell as it had to go around the ship. Keep surfing.

Why start a SURF video saying something like surfing is typically thought of as a white person sport and pointing out that colored people actually started the sport? Surfing is universal there are no colors in surfing just all different races of people just enjoying the ocean and energy and stoke!

Just bought it in LIB Tech construction and will see how it works in all kinds of conditions for me.
