Yeah it’s been a while but he did later get the car’s ECU retuned and he said it’s been a lot better since. I can’t remember the details though.

Glad you had a good time watching. It’s not Beams related but I got my own series with my AW11 MR2 that’s similar if you end up wanting more. It’s solo though runs way longer and has more stuff I work on. My friend with the SW20 wants to do some more work on it and we’ll film it like this series again but it’s been on the backburner for a while now.

Gonna be looking at a 1987 Honda aero 50 with 5,600 miles on it, owner said its working smooth as butter and well maintained, you think itd be worth the purchase around $1400?
@RetraCast4 күн бұрын
Depends on your area but maybe a bit high. Though they are pretty rare so tbh I’d go for it if it has the title, runs right, and you’re genuinely interested. Mine was $1100 with 3500 miles and had some light but tasteful mods like the exhaust. But one panel had some pretty heavy scuffs that were covered with the black vinyl you see on mine. Only real issue with it. I think $1000-1200 is about right on average imo.
@stig_k70124 күн бұрын
@RetraCast True it does feels like he's asking a bit much but yeah the fact that he does have a title for it and that he's been maintaining it(twas what he said) I'm not feeling too bad about spending the 1400 for it. Just wanted to get your opinion on this, feels good to finally get a chance to get my hands on one.

I bought one in January 1978 Loved it. One day I slowed down from 120 mph to get a ticket for doing 110 mph. I was 23 & single. Fixed the head lights so I could raise one at a time & wink at girls. I put 20 thousand miles on it in 9 months. But I need a pickup so I sold it...... SAD......

This cars may feel not so sporty to drive, but actually if you have experience with it like driving it for a year as daily driver - then when you get used to the car - it really transforms into something else. It has a lot of spots spirit inside but only if you know how to get it out.

My first car was a 1986 Toyota Celica GT coupe 5-speed stick in black. It was bad ass back when I was in High School. The girls loved this thing, I had so many girls wanting rides in my car. FYI I am pretty old so this was like almost 30 years ago. I put so much time into that car. Paint correction, new exhaust, replaced the entire stereo system and added 2 12" subs. I had girls literally chasing me down, it was nuts even my friends couldn't believe it. Man I had some good times in that car. Wish I still had it just to have some fun in it. It was pretty fast too back in the day. It was such a small car it beat so many other cars that thought they were fast. Oh the memories!

I like the video, nicely done! One thing I would fix, if it were me, when you sarcastically say, Automatic that's where I draw the line. Hint, the old dudes like me, buy the cars that get passed down to you. Some of us don't move our legs so well, or are amputated, but we all still love driving so sometimes an Automatic is there to serve a purpose.

Awesome! I have a projector; it’s ancient too. Got it in 1976. Never used it. How do you make/ record a film reel?
@Dannyxcores22 күн бұрын
You got a pretty nice one for 3k. Ones here in Cali sit in the sun and get destroyed. Like the plastics on the dash become ripped up and cracked. But I agree with you. The previous owner went too ham with after market. Like who straight pipes an MR2? Honestly. But it was theirs and to each their own. I really like how yours is turning out. Really well done. I would like to restore one as well but preferably without a T top.

I owned, and rebuilt, a wrecked 1972 Saab Sonett III back in 1976. I first saw one in 1976, when I really hot chick drove one up in the drive-thru bank that I worked at as a teller during college. I aske dher what it was ? She said "it's a Saab," and winked sat me as she drove off. I spent all my money that I earned working at a meat packing plant later that same summer during college on a wrecked '72 Sonett III, right before I drove to Alaska, via logging trails in British Columbia and on the old gravel AlCan Highway. It is my understanding that only 200 of the '72 Saab Sonett IIIs were imported into the US. Your review is not unexpected. However, you clearly do not understand, nor have you mastered, the nuances of the 4-speed free-wheeling manual transmission. Nonetheless, I appreciate your analysis and generally quite good review of this amazing car -- coming from someone who doesn't have a clue about these Sonett III cars -- no offense intended! BTW, I "restored" and then sold my '72 Sonett III to raise money to attend law school. Worst car investment decision I ever made; however, at the time it was totally necessary. I have now owned a number of other very nice cars (e.g., hot BMWs, a Mazda Miata, and several different Jaguar sports cars, etc.), but I always look fondly back upon my '72 Saab Sonett III. Thank you for your excellent video!

Honda Scooters, I get it. :-) I'm 61, and recently bought a 86 Honda Spree, and now own a 84 also. I've had a blast tinkering on these things. I've had both of them apart, and completely gone through them. New seat covers, tires, black wheels. So much fun. Top speed on the 87 is 30mph, and the 84 is 25mph. I got my eyes peeled for an Aero next. :-) Great video by the way....Keep them coming !!!!!!
@RetraCast27 күн бұрын
Thanks and good luck looking for an Aero. They’re a bit harder to come by but they’re worth it. A few 50cc Elites have similar engines to the Aero too. I don’t plan on buying a Spree (cuz I have too many bikes as is) but I’d like to hopefully borrow one for a month to do a video on it. My newest video has all my bikes in it too, may wanna check it out.

Be careful with the brakes and clutch and possibly some other parts on such an old bike. (The same applies to old cars) In the past, asbestos was used, which is very carcinogenic and has other serious health consequences I like your Videos very much, they are very cool and qualitativ :)
