Thank you for this tutorial. I tried this tonight and want to share what I did for my shirt, for ladies with a heavier chest or if you cropped too high. After cropping the top, I was getting underboob, so I sewed a leftover strip from the bottom of the original tshirt to the bottom of the dance top in progress. I sewed it to the front side only, tying it in the back. This worked like a charm and the shirt is secure now. :)

Does this help with weight loss? I have two hernias and i think belly dancing is one of the safest options
@JensuyaBellyDance16 күн бұрын
@@saraaaa747 Yes! Our bodies need to move, and in my opinion, belly dance is the best! So, if you're just starting to learn, go slowly, especially with the hernias. Listen to your body and stop when it tells you to. Regarding weight loss, exercise is key to helping your metabolism and hence, lose weight. Also, with belly dance, it's so much fun-it won't feel like "I have to work out now!" Here is a great belly dance series of 8 classes to start with: bit.ly/JBDShapeUpPlaylist Let me know how you do. Welcome to Jensuya Belly Dance! 💕

Hi Coach Jennifer ma'am! Is this also for men? I am man and did this with my mother-in-law but it was brutal! I could not last even 6 minutes of the lesson when entire body completely gave up and my MIL told me to rest :( My MIL did the full lesson with powerfully like you! She has 6 pack abs and obliques and they are rock hard! Even her biceps and shoulder are solid muscle like yours!! I feel quite low and defeated.

You are great with teaching. I got lessons 1&2, and 3rd needs to be practiced . I will stay with it for a while until it's all natural. I wanted to enjoy this for a while but didn't know where to start. I needed a slow start up to get rid of my stiffness and learn the beginning dance at home first. Thank you so much for sharing your talent. ❤

Jensuya, you touched on a really good topic. I recall a scene in the “ Mummy” ( first one starring Brando Fraser and Rachel Weize ) the scene is set in a cafe and Brandon’s character is talking with a man who flys an airplane. As they are walking and talking to each other, the man who flys a plane is a little snockard and starts walking across a small pool and is met by a Belly Dancer. ( The People Who made this movie made her look ravishingly Beautiful. She was dressed in black , had dark hair and her makeup was absolutely stunning on her face . She was overweight; however, she looked Beautiful and she expressed “ demure “ facial expressions with her eyes. I think that IF we could look at ourselves in a full length mirror, knowing that we have made ourselves look as Beautiful as we wish to express even the makeup, we can choose to see our most finest and most Beautiful features and as we focus on that or them , we say out loud or in a whisper after taking a deep breath, “ Gosh!!!, I look amazingly Beautiful.” Because the first person you have to convince is yourself. When it comes to having confidence, it starts with “ Seed Faith”. Even if you have a little sigh 😔 and say,” Well, I do look pretty.” It still goes a long way to boosting your self confidence. “ When you cast your bread upon the water, it will return to you multiplied.” That’s how I have always understood it to be like. 👍👍🙏🔥💜🦁✨🌈✝️ 6:55

The first time I heard music played on the Our was in the music on the albums I bought from Jodette . I feel as though I could float away with it like being on a cloud. It resonates with my ears and my heart. Your son, Dakota plays it very well. I would describe it as “ playing by ear” ; that is how the man who own a music shop wherein he sold many types of musical instruments explained it to me so long ago. I would go to his shop and dust the instruments that he said needed to be cleaned and he would talk to me about some of them. One day that I had gone in he asked if my family had anything musical in our home and I told him that my parents had purchased an old piano. He then said,” Wonderful!, Wonderful; every home should have something to play for music in their home. “ He gave me a couple of books so that I could learn to play the piano by and I learned that I could not read the notes on a page and understand them ; however, I Could “ play by ear .” He also Gifted a pair of Zills to me and said that he thought once I can play by ear Perhaps I might be able to learn how to play them. I still have them . Even though I have purchased another pair, the pair that he gave to me are my Favorite. I have learned how to use them in Belly Dance. I brought them with me to one of my classes and surprised Jodette that I repeated what she taught when she asked who did that. I confessed and told her that I play by ear. Thank you for your introduction to the Oud and allowing your son to play for us . ( Thank you , Dakota for playing your Oud for us , it was Very Beautiful. ) 👍👍🙏🦁✨🌈✝️

I always work on treating myself with loving kindness. I may not be what might be considered “ Perfect “ in someone else’s eyes or opinions; however, I tell myself that IF ever anyone said what I did was “ cute , but not Perfect “ I would think that they are “ just straining at gnats and swallowing camels”. Then, I would actually say, “ Perfection “ is always a work in Progress. As with any type of job , one never “ Knows it all , but daily learns more about the work that they are doing so that they can Perfect their knowledge and skills regarding the work that they do. “ When I can tell myself that “ I am o.k. and they are o.k. “, I have generated positive good feelings for myself as well as for others . ( When I attended Jodette’s School of Belly Dance, I had painted Henna tattoos of candle like 🔥 Flames 🔥 on the tops of my feet . She noticed them and commented that she liked them . I told her it was a “ Personal thing “ for me to remember which is “ I walk in the Light and nothing can harm me.” ) 👍👍🙏🔥💜🦁✨🌈✝️

@emmalove1352 ай бұрын
I started out my young life dancing in beer bars and working my way up to Exotic Dancing . In the 70’s I found an album on Belly Dance by Jodette and inside the album cover she had included instructions on how to construct a costume for Belly Dance. My mother liked it and said that if she had the money she would have sent me to Jodette’s School of Belly Dance in Sacramento, California. And, if it worked out well for me she would have sent both of my sisters also. Through my life and travels I also found a small paper back book that her husband who was a writer had written for her. I really appreciated that book . It had lots of information about the exercises, costumes and even recipes that were wonderful and easy to learn. I have somehow lost it; however, I wound up in Sacramento and took 8 classes that she taught and enjoyed learning her techniques and working with the other women in the class. She offered her albums for sale which I purchased two from her and one of them was the same as the first one I had originally purchased. Since I am considered “ Retired” , I have been thinking of returning to Belly Dance in some way. One way that I was considering is to start my Mobil Massage Therapy until I can find a good location for a Dance Studio and then work Massage Therapy on certain days and then Teach Belly Dance on other days . I have always enjoyed Dance , it is a good exercise for the body and it has always made me feel good about myself. When I feel good about what I am doing in the Dance , it is easy to smile and connect with my audience. Some of them will approach me and ask me questions about what I do and how to learn it. I feel your husbands embarrassment and I sympathize for him. It just seems so inappropriate for a woman who does any kind of Dance to act in an indescent manner. That’s something that I learned a long time ago. I want to maintain Respect with my audience whether that’s with one or a crowd . Jensuya , I am sorry that your husband has experienced that. It truly must’ve been an embarrassing moment for you as well. I am sorry that you experienced seeing that kind of behavior from another dancer. I think that it is that kind of behavior and actions that give “Belly Dance “ and other types of Dance a bad name. 👍👍🙏💜🦁✨🌈✝️ 5:48

I used to have a bicycle but am thinking of buying a bicycle- exerciser for hands or feet. I already do a lot of walking and climbing and descending stairs. I think I just need to focus more on techniques. Thank you 🙏, Jensuya. 5:25
