Thank you! If understand the process and safeguards needed for handling lye, then this soap is no different. The worst that can happen is the design does not look good. It still will be useable soap! There are many KZbin videos that show the basics of soap making.

I've made tons of soap just not on that design level. At some point I believe it transcends soapmaking a d goes into art.

Try it. I have tried many designs and some of them do not turn out as I had in my mind! But that is ok, because these bars are used in our house and by family and friends. Start with a simple design. One of my next videos will be a simple swirl. The video will be published in about 2 weeks.

Rosalie

Thank you for watching. The instructions for making the mold are in another video, kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIitn2WjgraKbNE The container is from a supply that I used up. I love re-purposing containers. The superfat/ lye discount is 4%. For the water and lye amounts I use a ratio, usually 1.7. This means the water amount is 1.7 times the lye amount. I hope this helps.

Rosalie

@SEAandCLEANsoap thank u so much. My batter gets too thick to pour, and I'm no sure if I should add more oils or what. Part of learning.
@SEAandCLEANsoap28 күн бұрын
To achieve fluid soap when pouring the most important thing is not to use the stick blender too much. Stop blending when it is just mixed. Then divide and color. Then if needed you to stick blend more. This is something that I am always working on! There are many other reasons. Such as your water amount is incorrect, the recipe does not have the correct amount of unsaturated oils, temperature of oils and lye and the scent you use.

@SEAandCLEANsoap thanks for the info. I thought my temp was too high, but my niece was helping me on my last batch and she kept forgetting to tare. Will plan on making another batch tomorrow alone. Lol

Very nice! I've seen older videos where people do a similar design by putting pvc piping in the base soap and pulling the pvc out after saponification to leave voids. Then, filling the voids with fresh soap batter. Your method seems easier.
@SEAandCLEANsoap3 ай бұрын
Interesting, I did not think of that.

I admire your coolness still attempting a design with the hanger tool. And it payed off, they're some neat bars of soap. I didn't see your pink hanger tools in your list, where did you get these?
@SEAandCLEANsoap3 ай бұрын
The swearing was edited out! You can get the 'hanger' tool at a hardware store such as Lowes or Home Depot. They are called gear ties, twist cable ties or tie down. They are similar to these: amzn.to/3VVtQtc

@@SEAandCLEANsoap😂. Ahh thanks! I would have to check our hardware stores over here in Germany then to see if they have such things. They're looking great for our purpose. Happy Soaping! Love your designs.

What a neat idea! I’ve never heard of water soluble paper!😮 does the flowers separate at all from the bar?
@SEAandCLEANsoap3 ай бұрын
No, it does not. Just make sure you pipe outside of the outline. I have also used water soluble paper in one-time use soap. I cut out shapes (I did seashells) and dipped them in hand made liquid soap and let dry. One 'paper soap' for each hand wash.

You need to charge more for your soaps. You can't be making any money for all of your work. Especially the ice cream sandwiches.

I agree and I do! The soaps I make for KZbin most likely will not be made again. I just like to move them out to make room for more.
