Hello madam, I am starting to make soap but I do not understand how to calculate the quantities but especially the water/detergent ratio because on the printable version it says 1.0000:1 and I do not know what calculation or anything else I should do. A lot of soap makers use a percentage for determining the amount of water to use. I find it easier to use a ratio. Most of the time I use a ratio of 1:1.7. This means that I take the lye amount and times it by 1.7 to get the water (liquid) amount. Sometimes I will use a ratio of 1:2. This means the water amount is twice the lye amount. I use SoapMaker for my lye (soap making) calculator. Not only is it a lye calculator it also keeps track of my supplies, recipes and so much more. SoapMaker is not free, but the one-time price was more then worth it. There are many free lye calculators available in English, but I am not sure about French. I guess if you do an internet search you will find one. Each of the calculators come with instructions on how to use.

To achieve fluid soap when pouring the most important thing is not to use the stick blender too much. Stop blending when it is just mixed. Then divide and color. Then if needed you to stick blend more. This is something that I am always working on! There are many other reasons. Such as your water amount is incorrect, the recipe does not have the correct amount of unsaturated oils, temperature of oils and lye and the scent you use.
