I've had Origo 2000 for many years and now 6000 for the last 5 years, learned that the burners must be used frequently and filled with 1 liter fuel each. With that small rule they perform as good as a propane stove. If you leave them for longer periods a lot of water remains in the burners and they burn much cooler. I really like my 6000 and especially when I found a fuel source that's not as expensive. Propane is still way cheaper but then again, a really don't want to make my boat a sailing bomb. :)

@UguysRnuts
@UguysRnuts 4 ай бұрын
Absolutely right Paulo. The plates became completely useless after adding those ridiculously over-built steel risers and massive, cast eyebolts. Way too much weight at the worst possible place. The motor is now too high and will cavitate excessively as soon as he tries to turn. Also, sealant needs to cure before bolts get fully tightened or it will just squeeze out. Since he also neglected to through-bolt the engine to the transom, as stipulated in the owner's manual, I expect this o/b is going to end up at the bottom of the fjord.
@onthesurf
@onthesurf 3 ай бұрын
@@UguysRnuts it still works great, no cav, since its a long rigg on a short transom you need to raise it to get it to "normal" height. Sailboats normaly have a long rigg or eaven a xl rigg and share the motor with the dinghy, then you have to do this. If you have a long rigg on a short transom dinghy it probably wont eaven get up on plane. And if you make a gruve around the hole you can tighten it fully direct, then you will only squeeze out the "extra" and it will be a good seal around the bolt like a o-ring if you make a gruve. The big bolts with rings surves too purposes, 1 something to ty down the motor with since this on dont have any way to bolt it, 2: good mounts to drag/pull with (pulled the A25 of a sand bar using this)
@UguysRnuts
@UguysRnuts 3 ай бұрын
@@onthesurf If you're going to double down, so will I. Water will easily saturate your transom since you, not only didn't seal the the grain in those massive bolt holes, but applied no sealant underneath the stainless steel plates which are sandwiched up against the original, textured transom plates creating a wide open channel to trap and funnel seawater directly to the holes in the transom. Are you seriously going to leave 6cm of excess eye bolt protruding on both the inside and outside of your transom? You've got to be joking??? And don't try to tell us it doesn't cavitate excessively on a tight turns. I know it does. I've been working in and on boats since before you were born and have seen it all before.
@onthesurf
@onthesurf 3 ай бұрын
@@UguysRnuts there are sealant around al the holes and since the hole are bigger than the bolt it is sealant al the way in. You cant put it between the plates and the transom, no point because when you tighten it it will just squeeze away anyway, as long you put it on the bolts it will fill the hole upp total and then squeeze out and make a good seal around the hole in the transom, so water cant get in the transom, thats the only important, if water gets in between the transom and the plates it still wont get in the holes in the transom, but since there are no sealant between the plates and the transom it can drain away
