Many of us have been well educated because of your efforts, and especially the broad reach of your podcast. On behalf of the quiet but active eaters near me, much gratitude! Complex questions need willing thinkers to sort through these issues, so I'm also very grateful for your depth of treatment for addressing each other with thoughtful respect. Especially now.

Well there’s a ton cover ups that are never disclosed to the public. So it’s not surprising to me and many others that disclosure of weaponized food isn’t mainstream. That’s what this upcoming election can change. RFKJr says vote for T man. Regulations need to change for the future of our health.

This is an excellent interview, so much good information. Yes we are being poisoned wholesale, Bobby Kennedy Jr is a wealth of info on this subject also. I would love to see this go viral. Absolutely need a part two. Organic rising is a great film, that needs to be seen by the masses too. Not sure if that film is on DVD, need to check with my library. Thanks to all the work that went into that film.

🙏Your guest hinted at the nutrient superiority of organic foods on his health in the opening statements. I would hope he would consider and promote that idea more with the appropriate research to back up the obvious to anyone interested . My own life experience backs up the superiority of organic both good and bad, i.e.- you can eat too much of a good thing with consequences.

The only book that I can think of that goes into detail is David Montgomery and Anne Bikle's book "What Your Food Ate." A lot of research is shared. The final chapter draws the conclusion that regenerative is better based on the research done on organic. I missed the logic train on that one, as regenerative means so many different things to so many different people (and corporations). Sometimes it means organic. Sometimes it doesn't. Clearly it doesn't mean organic to Bayer, Syngenta, General Mills, ADM, Bunge, McDonalds, Pepsi, and so many others. But the basic proof is strong that there are substantial nutritional health impacts based on HOW food is grown, and real Organic keeps winning.

Just to be clear, Joel Salatin is great on animal welfare but he is not organic. He does not want any government intervention or regulation on his farming operation. He would not meet organic standards because he does not use organic feeds. Nor does he push his neighbor's growing grains for his poultry and swine feeds to be doing biologically regenerative farming.

This is the problem with much "Beyond Organic." Using organic grain is not a minor detail. It is a big deal, and we need to build a system where that is the norm, not the exception. We import about two thirds of the "certified organic" soy and close to half of the "certified organic" corn in this country. I find the inexpensive imports to be highly suspicious. They are imported because they are cheaper, and there is no big labor component to growing grain. It is news to me that other countries are able to beat America on growing grain inexpensively, so why can they do it for "certified organic" grain. There has been a lot of fraud, and we need to stop it.

Next to war, industrial agriculture is one of the greatest tragedies of our time. The true costs of producing food in this manner are never accounted for. The blame can be spread in a lot of directions, but the bottom line is we need a path for our farmers to get off synthetic inputs. We have sufficient knowledge to due this through implementing regenerative organic principles. While not without challenges, the upsides are too long to list and too beneficial to ignore. So what will it take for farmers to take agency on their own lands and become stewards and hero’s of our planet again? What will it take for our government and universities to recognize that it is biology, not chemicals, that will save us from a rapidly changing climate? Will consumers rise and demand more support for a chemical free food system with integrity in labels and a healthier environment to live in? Knowledge is power, so thank you Dave for sharing another amazing interview, and with full respect for the courage and time that Anthony Suau dedicated to this film.

I am doing my PhD on Dynamics of agroecology in the urban parks which is completely following agroecological farming principles in dayalbagh Agra, India. And it is surprising how a deserted land converted to green forest and very resilient ecosystem within 10 years. And surprisingly increased biodiversity. We introduced approx 250 plant species and now it is home to more than 2000 species same goes with faunal diversity, It is very productive and constructive but the sad part is seed company like syngenta and chemical company like yara is not going to support these vibrant approach towards environment. But i am hopeful for earth.

Great podcast! The exploitation of labor has been a foundation of industrial agriculture for too long with too few willing to shine a light on it. The Coalition of Immokalee Workers has showed the power of working together to overcome strong institutional powers.

Another great talk by Linley, everything she said was right on target. The quote by Dru Rivers was one of many that sum it up, live it breathe it everyday. When you do it this long it is spiritual. Ties right in with some of biodynamic principles, they are interwoven and part of the whole organic movement and philosophy. These gatherings are so important for the organic community. Community being the cornerstone.

If you want to grow the movement we need to abolish the rotation rule for farms under a certain size! It’s absurd hydroponics can get certified but my 100% Jadam organic farm can’t get certified because I grow tomatoes in the same greenhouse year after year! The rotation rule is exclusionary and nonsensical, my tomatoes are healthier and more disease free than all the certified farms in my valley. There are thousands of small farms that could be certified if not for the rotation.

I agree with you. Even though we grow winter greens in our tunnels, I don’t see how that helps with “soil health”. As long as organic matter is maintained through compost additions and there aren’t soil borne diseases, it shouldn’t matter. Tunnels are high value spaces and need high value crops. Can you put in a quick spring or fall arugula crop to qualify?
@tamarackartstudio7893
@tamarackartstudio7893 Ай бұрын
@@linleydixon9580 I was told by an organic-certified grower that you can’t grow the same crop in the same place 2 or more years in a row, regardless of in-between crops?? I already grow winter greens and carrots in the same tunnel after tomatoes, does this mean I could qualify? Thanks so much for replying, this means the world to me!

A bad sign when a sitting US Senator tells Mr. Chapman that it's the job of the people, his constituents, to hold companies and other politicians accountable for their statements and actions. Well, why the heck did people elect Senator Tester if for no other reason than to go to DC and hold such people accountable??? Isn't he supposed to be fighting for his constituents instead of acting like he's got no political pull in Montana or Washington?
