@@ZafroSoundz that’s a huge bummer. Sorry to hear that. I bought my 2nd MS less then a month ago on eBay for $320 but all the restoration I did was on the outside. Point being, you might be able to find a working one thats really messed up on the exterior and get it for cheap. Then swap out the whole board. I don’t know much about the inner workings of chips, but it’s easy to swap whole boards out via a few screws and connectors.

@@ZafroSoundz right on, good luck if you decide to do that. Apparently these older early 2000 Keyboards and rack units are worth a lot parted out now days. I ordered two knobs for $40 bucks because there is not much for replacement parts online. So haven’t a 2nd one around just for the parts is a good thing. That’s if longevity is important. I built my collection of synths, samplers, modules, and groove boxes up to last a lifetime if I take care of them. Which I do. They all have cases except the Radias, MS2000, and Moog Grandmother. Also my Theremin too lol all in due time.

@@marcnellis6504 Right ok, I get what you're saying now. No, octave won't effect the drum track. Each pad is an individual note. You would have to go into the software and make a custom scale. Most drum machines start at c1 so you'd have to start at maybe c3 or whatever to get higher octaves. I guess you would be able to save the different octaves on different patterns, it's not something I've tried.

So I'm confused lol on the audio output left and right would you use a single stereo jack not a mono jack in the left audio out in to a mixer I'm talking hardware mixer because it says in the manual if you plug just in to the left audio out it turns it in to a stereo signal so I'm getting like a plug that straight into a mixer ? Sorry dude I'm still learning lol
@ZafroSoundz
@ZafroSoundz 2 жыл бұрын
L and R output are 2 mono outputs together they make stereo. If you use the L only with a mono lead it will be mono out put no stereo field, you won't be able to pan instruments in your patterns. In this video I'm mainly referring to the INPUT which is a small stereo jack. Use your out puts in stereo, one mono lead to one channel L and one to another R then hard pan them on your mixer corresponding to L or R, all the way Left and all the way R then you'll have stereo. Some mixers have dedicated channels that are stereo so no need to pan you just plug in L and R.
@timgstar3585
@timgstar3585 2 жыл бұрын
@@ZafroSoundz Oh I see right that makes sense now .am right in thinking you could use a stereo jack just from the left output nothing in the right as this would be a stereo signal coming out from the left as long as you don't plug anything in the right out put ? Because it says that in the manual
@ZafroSoundz
@ZafroSoundz 2 жыл бұрын
@@timgstar3585 No can't use a stereo jack to get stereo from one output unless the output is stereo, it's a mono output, the manual just says if you only use the L output then the internal sounds will be mixed down to mono. You can use a stereo jack on mono outputs, this is a called a tipped lead, and can be used to sort out grounding issues but really in this situation you should be using mono cables.

Nice combo and thanks for the demo :) I bought a 777 the day after christmas ~2004 on a last-second Ebay bid of $700, and unfortunately had to sell it a few years later. It has been my "most missed synth" for many years, even after acquiring a '71 2600 and JP-8 and a wall of modular I still miss the 777. While I can get 99% there by patching, there is really no substitute for a box that does it already.

I got both of them, and love being able to take them with me outside in the summer..! Some things are a bit limited (like one modifier, local effect, and envelope per track, as well as not having a full ADSR envelope), but other things are really good for such a small and affordable "all in one" product (like the selection of waveforms on the synth version, and being able to layer up to 16 oscillators - which allows for creating some very authentic drum sounds, as well as other types of samples). On top of this, i think they are just really cool looking devices, with a great workflow..! I would never trade mine for any other instrument (that im aware of) in the same price range. EDIT: Actually, the price of both these are not too far from "Komplete Ultimate". Of course, this is software, so you need a computer ro run it, and computers dont provide that same "hands on" experience as hardware... Some also believe analog creates nicer sounds - but that can easily be emulated with some modifiers on a digital synth. Considering that "Reaktor 6" allows you to design your own synths, samplers, effects, sequencers, etc - with basically no limitations except your skills, and what your computer can handle - to me, this seems like *the best* music production options on this planet..! And with all the other stuff you get in the "Komplete" packs, its a simple choice - for me... Very happy to have both Komplete 11 Ultimate and both the electribes :P
