I need to figure out how to convert an old Spectra unit to use the W9 head, have all of the adapters for the main body but I need someone to do some bit banging in the MFM module so the radio recognizes the W9 head. Yes this Real Old stuff but it’s fine for amateur use.

i noticed something about these sirens. The wind down on the manual mode sounds very identical to Whelen's WPS-3016 outdoor warning siren.

We used the black rockers to control lights on the light bar, but some agencies used it as a brake light kill switch. The mechanics were good at rewiring stuff like that.

Hey brother, i’m having issues with my manual momentary push button to cycle the manual feature. Are you able to share how you wired it or what pins they are connected to. How is your momentary switch wired? Thanks in advance

Hi. You need to make sure the VIP ports are programmed to the horn ring on the CPS software. If using a DEK depending on what you have programmed to, the horn ring is activated by touching ground to pins 15, 16 and 17. Hope this helps.

I can assure you I'm allowed to own it. It's not installed on any vehicles and simply a collection piece. No law prevents me from owning a siren or light.

It can. Just sett the switch to that position and don’t press anything else.

No. The siren cannot broadcast or transmit anything. It's just a siren. The radio on the other hand is programmed to the weather channels and is able to receive the weather reports.

How rare is the Harris FS SmartSiren? I either have one somewhere, or I gave it away with the radio, I don't remember.. but I'm gonna be mad if it's worth some money lol.

It is actually pretty rare. People sell them dirt cheap because they are unable to use them without the radio and cable. The cable for the Smart Siren is extremely rare and you almost never find them or find them cut. With the cable and amplifier included it can be up to $275-300.

That's just how Federal Signal/Unitrol designed it. They're at least more unique than the tones most sirens have (wail, yelp, etc.).
