For someone who only knows guns from Fortnite, you picked one of the better options. Hi, I am a gunsmith, and it is my obligation to rant about bullpups. The Steyr AUG is one of the three bullpup rifles actually worth something. In fact, I'd say it's the first good bullpup. Normally, bullpups suffer due to bad triggers and awkward ergonomics. While the AUG's ergos are still pretty bad, it's still significantly more useable than even some modern bullpups. The AUG also does not have a selector switch to swap between semi and full auto. It has a "Progressive Trigger," meaning the first quarter of the trigger pull will be semi-auto, but pulling it all the way will be full-auto. I am not a fan of this, as progressive triggers tend to feel absurdly heavy and awkward. The 2nd best bullpup is the Desert Tech MDRX. For context, the Steyr AUG was designed in the 1970's, while the MDRX was designed in the late 2000's. That is how absurdly difficult it is to make a good bullpup, where a design from the Cold War consistently outperforms modern alternatives. The MDRX is unique in that it has a great solution to the problems bullpups have with ejecting spent casings. There's zero way for me to describe it in a YT comment, so just look up videos on it and see for yourself. The final, best, bullpup was made in the late 2010's by GENERAL DYNAMICS. Yes, the same company that makes Fridges, Washing Machines, and the main gun of the A10 Warthog. This gun is the RM277, which is a very wierd bullpup in that it has a switch to swap between open and closed bolt operation. It also is the first gun to have a hybrid between an external-piston operation and a short-recoil operation. If you don't know what either of those mean, just know that the end result is a gun that just doesn't recoil despite shooting a bullet even more powerful than 308. For context, 308 was once considered too unwieldly to use in full-auto without the use of a bipod. The M14 was 10lbs unloaded and STILL couldn't control the recoil. So far the only gun to get close is the AR10, which made 308 feel like 45ACP. The RM277 makes a bullet even more powerful than 308 feel like 9mm and a shove. Oh also the SCAR is horrible. The only reason it has its reputation is the muzzle brake, which can be put on any gun.
