Wow I was completely about to give up on the presonus until I landed here, how can one ever thank you enough for this well worthed tutorial, so excellently made and explained, Thank you so so so much, I'm on to part 5 now, I hope you can help me with these 2 questions I have, you mention about rising up your speakers levels to distorting and then pulling back, but when a venue or bar has people in the very last thing I want to do is blow their ear drums out, how do i get round this, is it by keeping the main fader on the desk down, no that don't make sense do it I'm cutting the sound then going to my speakers, and then what about setting up my active subs levels, 🤔 also with regards to plugging your guitar directly into the desk is this not right and should it go through a di box first, I've plugged my keyboards directly and they sound perfect but my electric guitar and acoustic don't, and finally adding reverb and delay to my guitar channel how can I do this, I have my vocal reverb and delay set to sub 3 and 4, but last night I seem to have my reverb riding along the main also and can't take it out of here, I'm learning, I'll get there eventually, but your videos so far I'm taking notes to put into practice later, but seriously thanks for this amazing amazing free tutorial, patron saint of the presonus digital desk, also finally where do I get to find your cheat sheet on setting up my individual instruments and vocals etc, ✨👍

Sir, do you know if on a 16.0.2 USB there is a way to NOT route a channel to the Main output bus? Most mixers have channel routing buttons. But I don't see, unless I'm missing something. Was hoping buried in UC but not that I can tell. This is a major design flaw if no way to change.

Hi Derek, I know its been a few years since you did this tutorial, but I only recently bought a 2nd hand presonus 16:4:2 mixer and honestly it's mainly because of your amazing well put together videos I was able to perform 1st night with this desk, I'm completely new to the digital world of mixers, also with in relation to powered speakers namely the RCF 935a's under which I have the Behringer B1500xp's subs, latest gig my mic was constantly whistling when trying to get my vocal above the backing tracks, in this video tutorial you mentioned a very important point on matching the powered tops to the desk, I normally have them set about 12 o clock position but last night this setting certainly did not suit the venue, I brought them to 2 o clock made a difference but still mic was constant feedback when I try to boost the level fader, these RCF's are very powerful but where was I going wrong, as I said I do sing and play with backing tracks but I was forcing myself vocally, my speakers were definately not set right also backing tracks were over dominating, For my tracks from my ipad I'm using 2 channels on the desk and I used a bright piano preset to work from as there's no preset on the desk for tracks, I just used it as a starting point, I hope you will give me some insight as to where I may be going wrong here, also the Eq sheet you put together where will I find this to print off, well done on your super tutorials here, I'll have to bring my desk in house and follow as you go through all your chapters on this super desk, await your reply and thanks

I have the Presonus 24.4.2 Mixer, I'm missing something, I've been working on this mixer for 3 weeks and my basic understanding is pretty good now, My question is, Is there a way to use the fat channel to eq individual channels in the AUX"s, What my problem is my Aux mix is Aux 1, If I EQ my mic to sound good everybody elses mics are muddy, if I adjust the EQ on everybody elses Mics and make them sound good my mic flips out, it starts squealing, high pitch uncontrollable feed back, If I compromise the eq settings the whole systems sounds pretty bad, If I could just EQ my mic in the Auxes I think I could fix it, HELP

SM58 sounded amazing 30 years ago...but since then there are so many Mics that way miles superior. Yeah... all the overblown hype about sm58 being tough after being abused for many years and still works; I can say the same about many Mics too. All my Mics made by Sennheiser, AKG and many other brands still work even after so many years of abuse....so pls stop all the overblown hype about sm58 being so tough cos so many Mics are equally tough!

If you have a bad singer, NO mic will hide it lol. To say a bad singer's flaws will be hidden with certain types of mics is just not true. Some mics have more clarity than others, sure, but no mic will hide the faults of a bad singer.

If you are on firmware version 1.50a +: You can control the send level of the FX channels by using Aux Flip mode. To use this mode, select the Aux you want to use and press the Mix button twice which will switch the first six meters and encoders to become the aux-send level controls for the : 1) Main FireWire Return 2) Analog Tape In 3) Aux Input A 4) Aux Input B 5) FXA 6) FXB

How to turn up tape source into an aux output
@stevewang2012
@stevewang2012 Жыл бұрын
Hey, have you found an answer yet? I also ran into this situation recently in our open mic session. All floor monitors are connected to aux outputs which has sounds from microphone and instruments. But we also has external music source come in via tape (2 track) routed to main speakers but not floor monitors. Student drummer plays drum cannot hear the backing track from the floor minitor next to him (only from main speakers facing audience) causing timing issue. So I am trying to find out how to route the tape source to aux output.
