Imagine actually reading the lore being excited after season 1 waiting for Vander to become Warwick and Viktor to be Viktor only to have your hopes crushed and your champion changed afterwards.

I personally think that Viktor getting some sort of rework is a good thing, the champ is not in a great spot. I also think that giving Viktor some sort of visuals alluding to his arcane version is good, esp in bringing arcane viewers to the champ. I personally just think that a whole visual update around his arcane version, removing his old lore entirely, feels not the best

the issue with Viktor and the reason people are angry is because the old Viktor was a man that had to replace most of his body with mechanical parts in order to survive, and through that he thought of it as him evolving, which is the origin of glorious evolution. New Viktor is just your regular run of the mill magician, he's no special anymore from a design perspective, he looks nothing like the Viktor people loved for years. gameplay is largely the same, but he was one of the few technology based champions, and is now just a magician like veigar, or hwei, or Malzahar. the big problem boils down to they removed a cool champion and changed it into some lame knock off magician instead of the pioneer of technology. if you want another comparison imagine they jinx from a crazy hyper girl to a bookworm that likes to tinker, it wouldn't be Jinx anymore, just a cheap knock off
