Do you have a Kakadu model compatible battery tray?
@AussieDrifterTouring4 күн бұрын
This tray fits most Kakadu models in the same way, its just a couple models of KAkadus had a air pump mounted in the location of the battery so it just means that that has to be moved. So if your battery location is clear then this tray will fit just like the video.

Update on my previous comment. Got the job done, works great. Just need to take time & find something to pull cable through tight spots. Cable ties were really tight in places so used spare wire to push end of cable tie to where I could use 1 hand to attach properly.
@AussieDrifterTouringАй бұрын
Sounds like it was pretty tight in your setup, glad you got it sorted out.
@bruceh1670Ай бұрын
What I hadn’t considered was how difficult it is running the cable When you have the ARB 140l fuel tank installed. There is almost no way to get your hands in place to pull cable or to tie it to the ford harness. Can’t see how cable will fit under fuel filler as there is hardly any gap at all. It’s taking me forever. Going to be a bit of a bodgey job I’m afraid. Not fault of product just me

Thanks for this video. You must have the smallest hands of any known body. It took me about 2 hours to get the wire through the grommet. I ended up putting a flat screwdriver through the grommet to give a space for the cable. There was not room for two hands between the brake actuator near that grommet. I did contemplate putting a hole in the grommet but persisted and it appears to work. The hole in the rear was the easiest part.
@AussieDrifterTouringАй бұрын
Ha ha, You can probably tell in the video that as an over 6 foot guy i certainly dont have the smallest hands in the world 😜 But i have done it a few time which makes it easier. Modern engine bays are pretty tight but hopefully the video explained the steps for you.

@AussieDrifterTouring2 ай бұрын
Hi Mate the cable size used depends on the type of harness and sockets selected. it is 6mm twin if using round sockets and 8 B&S bacle if selecting an anderson plug harness. They are all designed to run a fridge and other low current 12v circuits such as camp lights and charging usb gear.

Does it stop you from adding a snorkel , with the battery tray on that side near air box ?
@AussieDrifterTouring2 ай бұрын
It shouldn’t as the battery sits in between the air box and the fire wall, probably best to check with the snorkel manufacturer as some enter the side panel close to the fire wall wich may be an issue but for companies that enter at the air box it is still fully accessible. Hope that helps

Makes life difficult using the big impact drill instead of using 2 x spanners! Seems to be some kind of obsession with a lot of installers using power tools where spanner/socket would suffice and reduce the risk of damage or stripping bolts. Not always quicker, either.
