Like your 420 rig. Looks less nose heavy than the usual set up.

Did you do the 13.5 or the 16? If 13.5, how well does it work for 2 person sailing?

Some people might criticize the rough and tumble method and materials, but I get it. I am sick of wooden boats being spoiled by all this gourmet lumber made of wood imported from the island of pingo pongo and 7 layers of veneer and epoxy. Enough to make you throw up. Using split ash for the frames gets a gold star from me and so does using lumberyard spruce. I would probably try to avoid knots more and orient the strips with more quarter sawn faces rather than flat sawn but otherwise, I think its a much more honest authentic job than most. I give you an "A". Melonseeds are very good rowboats. Where is this boat mainly used?
@nienkeadamse5917 Жыл бұрын
In Maine, it rows and sails fine despite the flat sawn strips I used.....

This is really amazing! I wish I had enough space to do something like this. My project will be much smaller. Do you find that the greenhouse creates a lot of moisture in the workshop area? I am worried about rust developing on tools.

What did you use for Varnishing and sealing the wood I recently rescued a guzheng from online it’s pretty beat up I want to sand it down (by hand) and refinish or seal the two ends. But I don’t really know about instrument working. Can you recommend anything

Waste of money and time. using inferior materials, not knowing how to take and scribe measurements properly, not having done research properly. lack in fine woodworking skills. Basically you suck at woodworking. No one who takes instrument building and fine woodworking seriously and is respecting the art of fine woodworking would even DARE to even THINK about using birch plywood and pine. You should stick to crude stuff like scafolding or tree trunk slab coffeetables and bird feeders

@Al Diwan I doubt you'd hear much of anything. Can't imagine the sound board has any reverbe with how thick it was. Not sure why they even bothered adding the bracing, which by itself probably made it unplayable. I imagine it makes a good wall hanging piece from across the room.
