So what you’re saying is you can wheelie after the trick but before the trick boost comes out?

Excellent series. I think TF, DDR, DKSC/DKS, BC, and MT really represent the MKW experience and portray a lot of tech the game has to offer despite a seemingly-simplistic control scheme. MKW did a really good job of being easy to pick up and play but be challenging to become an expert. The TAS community also never ceases to amaze me, lol.

i remember this time very vividly haha i had AR here with the 0-1-2 shroomstrat for a while and was the second american to sub 1:50. out of all the tracks being tt'd during this era this one felt like the most active one of all. kinda revolutionized mkwii playstyles in general really since nowadays people use "TF inputs" for everything, before then we didn't really know that jerking the analog stick in the opposite direction as u drift off a surface gave u more air (this discovery was what made ppl start using the shroomless cut so much in this track's tts) this was also around the time fox was just starting to dominate mkw time trials so it was an insane period all around. good times!

10:35 whooooops haha :D I‘m not sure that‘s what people dub the „Kezer“ though, it feels like it was used more when trying to chain wheelie (when it actually matters) and accidentally dropping it - but I guess this is basically the same thing! I also feel like people started using it later (maybe after my first 2-1-0 run where I Kezer‘d in lap 3)… What a great series!
@SilverDT16 ай бұрын
woah is that the real kezer o: it's silver (silvAR). i haven't been in the mkwii community for almost a decade now but been binging mkw videos/talking to some peeps lately to reminisce... ur wheelies are unforgettable.
@MKWKezer6 ай бұрын
@@SilverDT1 it‘s been ages since we‘ve talked silvAR, hope you‘re doing well! I haven‘t stuck around in the mkwii community either but from time to time it‘s fun to see how the game has evolved (and to see how increasingly impossible it gets to reclaim my tf wr…)
@SilverDT16 ай бұрын
@@MKWKezer i've been doing fine, living the #wageslave life now 💀 hope all is good on ur end as well! yeah players these days are kinda fucking insane, everything seems so optimized now and that's on top of TF being a track that always had a lot of activity for some reason. i'm not really much of a gamer at all these days but i think what's cool is that regardless of what happens, as someone who held a WR, ur name is forever etched into mkwii history. nothing can take that away from you (or me)

wow, thank you for the in depth explanation of how the VR system works!! it always boggled my mind lol. i personally think mkwdx does an amazing job at handling VR, though it can be brutal if you’re not the best at the game haha. also, i see myself in there a couple times haha! ggs from bunni!

He actually doesn’t. A lot of the character bonuses on the stat screen are inaccurate. King Boo has the best drift stat

I'm surprised you didn't go into the aspect of "middle boxes" on lap 3 after you mentioned how people would go to the far left/right throughout the history of the course. I remember there being a lot of discussion about it in the player's page skype chat once people started becoming fast enough to go in between the boxes that would usually block people from going in a straight line, thinking that it would lead to quite the breakthrough since it allows for a much more convenient line, so it's kind of funny in hindsight that once Fox finally managed to get a WR with it in his .537 it took almost 2 years to see another improvement. I remember Fox talking about how the pace for it would have to be around .250 .450, and that if you were on pace for it, you wouldn't have the screen shake from the stomper going down behind you on lap 3. just wanted to share some niche knowledge, this was a very enjoyable and insightful series! I'd actually had the idea to do a Summoning Salt type of video essay about this track's history for a while now, it really is the most suitable track for it in this entire game, and you've done it plenty of justice with these videos
@lucasloucks11 ай бұрын
That's cool. I probably was there for some of those discussions but just don't remember cause it was years ago haha. I just put in what I could remember happened sometimes. And yeah, this track was fun to do!
