1:50 sub was already a really tough task and now people will get 1:48 eventually. Kids are so fast nowadays. Great series, thanks for the memories

I'm surprised you didn't go into the aspect of "middle boxes" on lap 3 after you mentioned how people would go to the far left/right throughout the history of the course. I remember there being a lot of discussion about it in the player's page skype chat once people started becoming fast enough to go in between the boxes that would usually block people from going in a straight line, thinking that it would lead to quite the breakthrough since it allows for a much more convenient line, so it's kind of funny in hindsight that once Fox finally managed to get a WR with it in his .537 it took almost 2 years to see another improvement. I remember Fox talking about how the pace for it would have to be around .250 .450, and that if you were on pace for it, you wouldn't have the screen shake from the stomper going down behind you on lap 3. just wanted to share some niche knowledge, this was a very enjoyable and insightful series! I'd actually had the idea to do a Summoning Salt type of video essay about this track's history for a while now, it really is the most suitable track for it in this entire game, and you've done it plenty of justice with these videos

That's cool. I probably was there for some of those discussions but just don't remember cause it was years ago haha. I just put in what I could remember happened sometimes. And yeah, this track was fun to do!

I recall canadian player Kyle using this double MT on the conveyer as far back as 2011

Never heard of that before. I guess it wouldn't be surprising if somebody else used it first, but I know my TAS is what made a ton of people use it and I found it myself.

Amazing series! I'm still curious why they changed mushroom spot... Is it barelly faster if you don't miss wheelie? By how much? Or is it some box cycle based thing?
@lucasloucks10 ай бұрын
The 039? It's because it's faster to use a mushroom on a turn than on a straight as long as you chain.
@noahcheng189510 ай бұрын
it's also because when you hit around a 36 0 l1, the crates are very hard to avoid with the og shroomspot. it's also just faster to shroom there if you do end up getting the chain
