Its tough, because the reality is that most people wont ever succeed in an oversaturated market like KZbin. But for those who do, they generally do put their lives on hold, go all in on something like KZbin or streaming, they happen to have the 'it factor' and opportunity is met with talent and effort, and they make it big. But they are the one in a million outliers. Yes, if you're going to make it in a market like youtube or streaming, you probably have to be delusional.
@JohnPDentАй бұрын
I understand where you're coming from. I have talked to a few KZbinrs who don't have a crazy following, but they've began to make some money while not working on it nonstop. I do think that there is some level of luck and "it" factor, but I think a decent personality and consistency will be the biggest parts. Also, some people just seem to get really lucky and a few of their videos blow up for no discernible reason.

Common sense is often not so common these days ;) Everyone should be reasonable when making decisions. But if you are still young, you can take more risks and learn from each - after all, experience beats just theoretical knowledge!
@JohnPDentАй бұрын
I completely agree with you. I think calculated risks are excellent ways to grow and learn. I believe that too many people simply hear one way of doing something and then think that's the perfect and only way, and then they have problems in the long run. Thanks for your opinion.

@@JohnPDent I got my, most amazing, girlfriend by talking about many things, most importantly echy anime (cos you know girls like that stuff too). Being a prude I would just be a lot more miserable as not only would I miss out on my favorite fandoms but on top of that I wouldnt have the person which makes me most happy.

There's a massive difference between being a prude and being overtly sexualized. Not everything is simply one side or the other.

Hello sir. I am a student 22 years old now working a summer job since june 2024. It is now September and i was nearly reaching a 3 months of no fap but i ended the streak yesterday night. I noticed throughout this journey that i was reach near the state of tier 2 of no fap, while i was at work i could feel at what timing will i get the urge and i got around it but yesterday i was immensely sick and couldnt sleep at night which led me to stay on my phone and end up mast*****ing. And i believe it is because of my boredom but also throughout the past few days i was less focused on my goals or new goals and more focused on female around me which is a good thing but always in my mind o had this immense urge of getting laid but i dont want to do that until marriage but i kept having these thoughts and at the end it all built up and got relased yesterday night during my weak moment. I want to continue nofap but mow my mind is telling me to fap more now that you've done it and start nofap later. How should i deal with this?
@JohnPDent3 ай бұрын
Sorry I am late in responding to this. The problem you've stated is incredibly common. It has happened to me so many times honestly. But think of it this way: you've made a mistake, does that mean you should keep making it? Obviously the answer is no. I'm not going to sit and lecture on this, I'm sure you've had some rough days and tough moments, and that happened and still happens to me. You'll make the mistakes sometimes, just do your best to not continue or let it devolve. Almost everything I can tell you I'm sure you already know: stay busy, talk and interact with people, be focused on the things that matter, and understand that this process is no going to be easy, especially if you're waiting until marriage. I live in the US, that's not common to wait anymore, so props to you for that. Reach out if you need anything or have questions and I will be better about responding quicker. Thanks.

Your messages are important. Do better with the delivery... OMG!!! PLEASE Get started at the start. I've been watching for over a minute and you are still talking about what is quite frankly boring unassociated items that have nothing to do with the title and presumably the actual topic of this video. That you only have 41 views after 12 days (and many months on YT) clearly shows there are problems. I'm brand new, my channel is not yet up, but my feed keeps showing your video on "KZbin changed my life..." so I watched it. Then I followed up with this, your latest video, to see what I can learn from your progression and development as a YT podcaster. There are many excellent channels that have a lot of amazing information on building a channel. Nate Black is great. Primal Video is another. In regards to the long unrelated ramble introduction on this video I suggest: How To Write a Script by Primal Video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIramGdugp2NpdU
@JohnPDent3 ай бұрын
I'm good doing things my way. I've worked to improve many videos and many of my videos have had hundreds of views and a couple have thousands of views. I've been working to better organize and schedule my videos on here. This video happens to me more of a ramble/talk style and it's not doing as well clearly. Sometimes things work that don't seem to make sense, and some times they don't work. Your advice sounds like the cliche youtube advice, which I only partially agree with. If you make every video the exact same way, people don't relate as you come across as robotic. I like switching it up, and that's okay. Your comment is your opinion, which I did ask for so I appreciate it.

I agree, when I'm sick I resist resting, but it's important to. But after too long of being sick I force myself to get up and do light work, eventually, it seems to kick-start my body and I get better faster.
@JohnPDent3 ай бұрын
On point. If you're really down in the dumps sickness-wise, don't do too much. I find that once I get moving again, I start to feel better mentally too.
@LateBoomer19643 ай бұрын
For the longest time I resisted the advice to be "organized" and "plan videos" I wanted to be spontaneous and original. However, I found that being organized and planning not only makes a better video with more value for the viewer...it makes filming and editing so much easier. I agree I do this to help people and the nice comments fuel my motivation. I also don't let the negative comments get to me. Live and let live is my generation's motto! Thanks for the insights!

We’ve seen this a lot in the workforce. Employees “looking for direction”, rather than making and driving change in their career.
@JohnPDent4 ай бұрын
I agree, but that does depend on the company too. If you are in a good situation, you can make lots of things happen. Unfortunately, lots of people aren't in great work environments and that can limit the incentive to push for change. That being said, everyone can always find new jobs that work better for them. I've had to do that as well.

I'm so sorry you had a bad day, John. They are never fun while you're having them. Please know what I'm about to say doesn't DISCOUNT your grief or frustration, but what I have learned is that bad days make the good days all that sweeter, if that makes sense? :) What has also helped me is when I go through this, I think some crazy scenarios like, "Okay... what if this morning, I got a call saying that a person I love was killed?" or "What I woke up and found I had lost my sight?" When I put those things in perspective, then the bad days seem to be softened. Just some unsolicited advice. I hope your week is a better one! :)
