Does the black leather stain the handle scales of your Lynx? My Lynx gets black spots on the scales.

7:16 Use of pull saw: the reason you're struggling with the saw is because you're trying to use it like you would a carpenters push saw! The efficiency of a pull saw is that pressure MUST be light on the push (or rather return) stoke and heavier only on the pull stroke! It also works better if you work more horizontally rather than at a 45deg downward angle. With a bendy blade like that using it the way you did could easily lead to a broken/bent blade or personal injury. With the Victorinox blade the best method is to saw directly downwards (90degs) rather then 45degs. This way you eliminate that movement of the work piece as in the video. 26:48 Feathersticks: firstly the stick you were using is far too short for a decent featherstick, as you found out when you tried. Also when using the fixed blade (immobilised by sticking into the block) you would find it works far better if the blade is angled back towards you at an angle. This improves the ability of the knife to make better cuts with less effort.

Getting the rhythm efficient on the push and pull of a saw is something I will work on. This was my very first usage of the Kerye and both saws work so differently. Despite my poor form, those cuts felt effortless. I’ll try the angle change you suggested. I am unimpressed with my feathersticking endeavor. Watching the video back actually helps me notice the poor form. I was also not supporting the pivot well and could see how the knife wanted to fold. So, angling the knife back with a longer stick? Thanks for watching and providing some thoughtful feedback. I will put your advice into the next practice session!

One or two strikes from a ferro rod seems easier than unwrapping a bic lighter. It’s often good to have a lighter handy, but I’d like to think of a lighter as the backup fire starting system.

can you set the sustain on the keyboard itself? I mean do I need to buy a sustain pedal or is there a button for it? tx.

Thanks kindly! I was looking into this recently. You need a USB Host to Midi converter to use the CT-S1 as a controller. The clip is using one of the extra tones in the CT-S1.

Hay man maybe we should jam sometime. From mtw and 99 in L.A. - itching for a road trip with some jams. We played around 200 jam nights 2013-2019 before covid. I sure miss 'em. Things are all different now. All new people etc. Been feeling really restless. Gotta get some new jams in. Cheers from Mtw in L.A. guitars, bass, drums.

There are a few practitioners in Georgia who have taken 2-3 of the Advanced-Myofascial Techniques workshops, though no one certified in level 1 yet in your state. Still, a good place to start. Here is a directory of folk who have studied under my mentor or his teaching staff. advanced-trainings.com/practitioners

I imagine that you did not change the rubber on the platens? I have a 1947 Royal QDL with a relatively good platen; I think its previous (unique) owner had it changed at one point. It makes a difference as the sound is muffled compared to my 1968 Lettera 32. I love both machines. The QDL is 12 pitch whereas the Lettera is 2.6 mm pitch. So depending on the need, I may take one or the other. The Lettera is my preferred machine for portability. Daniel
