I played yesterday for the first time using this swing philosophy/technique. Although I shot around what I usually do, it was the most enjoyable 18 I’ve ever played, in that I wasn’t constantly stressed with trying to employ multiple swing thoughts.

Manuel de la Torre changed my golf life for the better. Always been handy in the sand (even before Manny) and usually use a wedge with bounce- but played a 5-iron out of a shallow greenside bunker to just a few feet from the pin yesterday. It was glorious. I was playing one-clubbed with vintage tour-blade Wilson 5i. I'm in my second year of swinging as Manuel teaches. It's great.

I think people get too fixated on their own Concepts and sort of close their mind. I think he's coming from the angle of the club being circular or the swing being circular which is very true in a classic golf swing. Yet there is definitely factual data that the hips can move on A sagittal plane or up and down! So when he's saying you wouldn't want to hit down on your irons because you couldn't Propel the ball forward he's 100% incorrect. I'm not saying his swing concept doesn't work I'm just saying that golf instruction throws out physics and all this scientific stuff and biomechanics etc etc yet they only apply it to the one way they're thinking about it. They presented as a fact when in reality it's only one version or one view of a fact. So it's not that he's wrong cuz obviously he's correct and his swing concept works 100%, but he's also ignorant of how the modern swing works yet he totally disqualifies that.

You know this game has so many different ways to teach it and play it. The common denominator is to find a swing that you can trust. And to repeat any swing is pretty hard to do. In this game you need to work on the mechanics. Which is easier said that done,thanks. P.S. Keep You Eye On The Ball

Some golf instruction will say to turn your hands off during the transition and early downswing. I like de torres thoughts of swing with the upper arms bicept area, which he calls the arms, and shutting of everything below and including the elbows. The left elbow will remain straight and it prevents a premature unfolding of the right arm. That "casting of the right elbow and forearm is a killer. But its totally instinctual unless you understand the proper swinging technique. So take many practice swings getting used to using yoir upper ars and shoulders to turn and propel the swing into action from the top. Youll really feel those biceps springing into action. A nice stretch down the left bicep as it helps pull the club through. If youve been using a casting right elbow move youve probably never felt that stretch and activation of the left side. Gets the body turning correctly to help propel the motion. Legs as well obviously. But youre gonna save the power as you finally "punch" the right arm through impact unfolding the elbow ate the correct timing. Not expennding that power early. Plus the correctly folded righ arm in the early downswing supports the club. My findings anyway.

I think was is super important and changed my swing after 40 years of golf is that feeling that both of your hands have to be one unit! You don't use one hand with more force than the other. You don't pull your right hand or push your left but use both hands as one. This feeling has changed everything.

I just ordered the book and am looking forward to it. I kinda stumbled into this with another instructor who has a similar book around a the concept. But it's more about the body swinging. I had some success with it - but it didn't feel right. Just by dumb luck I stumbled into the making the motion with my arms yesterday. I just thought about swinging the clubhead back to plane to 11:00 and letting my arms swing back. I was hitting great iron shots the felt efficient. I found the same thing at a range session this morning. It feels like this is the missing link I had on HOW to make that move. Enjoyed th4e video and look forward to reading the book.

Better still at the top of your swing with subtle quickness simply twirl the handle. cheers
@ricneynewhouse19157 ай бұрын
A tip that has helped me simplify the swing and is consistent with Eddie’s philosophy is to visualize getting the handle to the ball before the head of the club. If one stays supple on the downswing, the club head lag will increase giving added power without extra effort.

Clubs are designed with shaft lean no? Which would put hands ahead at impact, with his grip the club would be open.
@jacobr45584 ай бұрын
Yes but his swing is 100% circular so it's all just a matter of getting the face where you want it to be through either a grip roll or some sort of rotational motion. You could even just adjust ball position but everything is pretty much on a circle.

I know you have heard golf is a very high percentage of the mental side of this crazy game. It matters how you swing but in this game. The ball and the club don't have a brain,somebody has to do the thinking. As a career and professional caddie,"If You Think Better,You Will Play Better".I hope this helps😊
