I already got my tickets for Christmas afternoon with my beautiful wife. I've been a huge Dylan fan since the 60's when I was in Viet Nam in the Army for a couple of years. They didn't sell his albums in the PX but they did sell Joan's early Vangard records. I was able to get a few bootleg Dylan albums on a trip to Taiwan. I never got to see him back in those days, but did get close to the stage when he came to Saigon about 12 or 14 years ago. It looks to me like it's going to be the best film I'll see this year. I’m so excited to see this movie on Christmas Day day with my kids who I’ve raised to be huge Dylan fans as I have been for my entire life! I think this review was fantastic. Great job Ashly. What I've seen so far, I've liked. But it seems *totally* like an impersonation, particularly the home scenes with the Joan and Suze characters. But I'm hoping that seeing the film in its entirety will create the world to lose ones's self inside.

Dylan freak for over 50 years. Just looking forward to seeing the performances. Know the story. Just hoping it is better than other musical bio-pics. You`re kind of mixed review leaves me thinking it won`t be. Doesn`t matter in the end. I still have all the albums, bootlegs and concert memories. That`s enough. Thanks.😃

Fuck this movie. Dylan deserves more than some half ass biopic that tries to sum up the vastness and beauty and impact of his art. Anyone that's promoting this movie doesn't get his music. It's Oscar bait at best, and at its worst, it's worst it's exploiting the most important American artist of the 20th century. Let Him live in his songs. Like i said, fuck this movie.

I love Amy Adams and feel she's really an authentic actress. I feel she should have won an Oscar for "Doubt" and should have been nominated for "Arrival". I'm sure I will appreciate this movie but not at a theater. Thanks, Ashley, for another great review!

Great review Ashley! I'm Sure Timothy Chalamet knocked it out of the park with his performance. Having said that, I will probably watch this on my streaming service. It just doesn't have the "pull" for me to see it at the theater. However, "Conclave" did get me to the theater. I started listening to music in the early 70's and it was mostly female singers (Carole King, Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon, etc.) so Bob Dylan was never brought up or his music played in our household. I love biopics (Walk the Line, Coal Miner's Daughter) but just don't have strong interest in Dylan's music.

Thanks for your thoughts and insights. I'm 78 years old and have loved Dylan from the beginning. Dylan is the poet of my generation. I am very eager to see the film. Timmy is a great actor. From the soundtrack, he has captured the voice. As Don Mac Lain says...he sang with a voice from you and me.
