Horses and ponies tails don’t have to be braided except for the hunters Double AA show or A show circuits. For example I’ve been in the NCHJA, my pony had to be braided. I went last year and my horse’s mane tail had to be braided.

In Puerto Rico we only have jumpers (beside paso fino). When I moved to the states I was enrolled in a hunters class. I had no idea. The instructor was so harsh on me because I was used to riding Jumpers and just wasn’t getting it. Made me quit riding sadly. But now I understand why I struggled so much. If I could I would get back to jumping! Thanks for the informative video!

So what I’ve learned from this is that I lesson at a stable that does both, but at my level, I currently only show hunter

Hunter classes are regulated. With jumpers, anything goes. Just get over the fence.

I just made the switch from hunter to jumper after almost 8 yrs. The horse i show was trained for jumper but i always rode hunter on him. I can really tell how much happier he is in jumper classes

Yay for the update!! I have the opposite issue with my niche audience who appreciate a certain kind of content and since I’ve swapped to vlogging and some horse content viewership goes down A LOT. However! It’s so much more fun to create content that matches your current lifestyle. I LOVE vlogging even if it doesn’t do as well, and there will always be people who watch every video and interact all the time. It’s all worth it!
