I just came across your video. I'm trying this with a Tennis ball. I think I need the lacrosse ball. I don't think I'm finding my TFL? I had another question. Where I think my t. F. L should be. There seems to be a real tight muscle up Toward the top Of my hIP t's hard to explain..... But I have. Constant back pain in the last couple days. I've been trying different exercises. And I think it's starting to help but it's still very tight. I don't know what else to do.

I would suggest to consult with a physiotherapist or doctor to investigate what might be happening here.

I've had such terribly tight calves recently -- this is so much easier and more do-able for me than trying to use a foam roller! Thank you for the tips!

Does this band rip out your arm hair or is it smooth enough not to tear at your skin?
@gamerdad2015

It can certainly pull on the skin and hair a little bit, but not to the point of tearing.

This interconnected system, should have structures that are supportive and thus by isolation of limbs those structures when mimiced in the other parts of the body should support the action. This is growing off the planes of motion, frontal, sagital, transverse. And creating circles of motion. Keeping in mind the extremes of motion are the weaknesses of motion. A unifide model of how the body muscles work can be created this way. I can't be the only one who has done this. If i am how can i push to educate the world of this.

I was in bootcamp in San Diego when my senior drill instructor gave us these lacrosse balls and told us to roll out our feet during square away time. I remember it made running less painful the morning after and was amazing. Hurts it a good way.

I'm looking help on a bulging/hypertrophied tfl. It bulged after a hip replacement surgery and Im having such a hard time getting it to disconnect and relax.
@stretchhealthcanada

I wonder if this might residual scar tissue from the surgery. Once inflammation has gone down, these congested areas typically respond well to soft tissue compression. Just be patient and consistent with it !

@@stretchhealthcanada the concern is that Im already 4 months Post operation. All swelling is gone but tfl is still hypertrophied. I'm working on straightening glute medialis and minimus. Patience is such a hard game when your still in pain. 🙏

Can I use a golf ball?
@gamerdad2015
@gamerdad2015 3 жыл бұрын
It might be a bit small but the density of the golf ball would be adequate. Also be mindful of it slipping/popping out from underneath you depending on the type of floor surface. Hope that helps!

_Lots_ of good & clearly articulated info here. Respectfully disagree with one comment at the beginning, that the model is “just something we use to illustrate the relationship between our skeleton and our soft tissue system.” As you imply from a lot of what you’re saying, we actually apply the force management principles of the model at all scale levels of the system, and actually apply it to all living organisms through all time, “viruses to vertebrates” (Levin). Please check out our BiotensegriTea Party events here on youtube for more details. thanks!!
