Can you add subtitles in English
@AkeelAhamedInsights2 ай бұрын
جزاك الله خيرا كثيرا for your comment dear brother/sister. Adding subtitles is proving to be an extremely time consuming task. Even AI is not yet at the point where we can reliably use it to assist (at least the open source (free) ones). Thus, I would instead suggest rewatching the videos to ingest the new vocabulary. This is actually more beneficial than having the crutch of subtitles there to assist you as it makes your mind actively think about the meanings of words much more. I have found much value in this as well. I hope this answer is satisfactory. May Allah aid and make easy your journey to mastering this beautiful language. Wassalam Akeel

ٱلسلام عليكم جزاك ٱلله خيرا أخي It is interesting that turning on captions shows 99% accurate transliteration. I understood most of it such as you work 9-6, and during your freetime you play Monopoly with your cousins and basketball. You're also in front of the computer most of the times. I have also noticed that these three words are frequently used by you: بٱلنسبت، أحاول and يعني. In my national language, Swahili, we also frequently use يعني as many words are borrowed from Arabic, but I believe to maintain eloquence and fluency using يعني is discouraged. It is best to pause and think for the right word then speak. وفقك ٱلله وزادك علما نافعا

JazakAllahukhairan. Do I need to have any prerequisites before taking a lesson with Dr. Ahmed?
@AkeelAhamedInsights3 ай бұрын
Dr Ahmed is quite flexible and should be able to cater to any level of knowledge in Arabic, whether beginner or above. I would recommend scheduling a lesson with him first (you maybe able to get the initial at a discount, if not for free) and finding out if you like his style of teaching.

Thank you so much for this video! I think it makes sense to learn fusha first but unfortunately there aren't so many videos on youtube in fusha. Also I always find it very interesting to see how people who are native in arabic react when you speak to them in fusha and if they are able to speak it too or only understand (which I have seen as well sometimes). Anyways, thanks a lot, it was really interesting! And also, I think you approached them in a very kind way!

ٱلسلام عليكم I'm also a Bayyinah student and I've been doing Dream course for more than two years with the rest of the globe. I self-studied EMSA vol 1 too. I heard your ustādh pronounce قرر as qarara (form 1), but EMSA has used to this word as form 2 or باب تفعيل (qarrara) to mean "determine."

Your arabic is amazing and the video is very helpful for language learners. But to some extent, using this extremely rigid and formal way of Arabic for casual everyday topics sounds strange and even mechanical and robotic. This formal way of talking is more suited for politics, diplomacy, education, scientific and other social topics. For such everyday topics, even if you use a more formal MSA style, it would still be more natural to use some ammiyah elements such as (bas, ktiir..saakin..kamaan..leish) and drop some of those case endings. Language learners should learn to know how to use language base on context and setting. That's the more useful way forward

جزاك الله خيرا كثيرا I deeply appreciate and value the comment. However, the goal of this series is to acquire the ability to understand and eventually speak the pure, unadulterated form of Arabic (from which all the dialects stem from). Just like with learning anything, once the fundamentals are mastered, it becomes easier to learn the extras. باركالله فيك
@OutNaBoutYallahBiNa4 ай бұрын
i see your point. Many thanks..It's great. The fundamentals are crucial. But often times arabic learners become too overwhelmed (e.g. case endings and elaborate grammatic rules) and then they give up after weeks/months. I think it is more useful to start from something less daunting and something closer to everyday contexts/semi-formal everyday speech. I guess most people learn arabic are for communication purposes not to become imams, teach arabic at universities or to become news anchors. Learning an excessively formal style of Arabic actually prevents effective communication both for the non-native learners and also for native speakers (as your videos show even a lot of native speakers are not comfortable speaking fusha). I am just saying that learning fusha is fine but maybe some less formal elements can be added so that it feels more natural@@AkeelAhamedInsights

Assalamu'alaikum Everyone, I apologise for the delay in uploading these conversations. I had initially planned to do 1 every week/ approximately 4 videos a month. However that proved to be infeasible for both Dr Ahmed and I. In Sha Allah, moving forward, we aim to do atleast 2 conversations per month. I would also like to post some videos of how we can levearge AI to make our language learning more fun and enjoyable. Stay tuned. In the meantime, if you enjoy these conversations and they are helping you in enhancing your listening skills, do consider leaving a like and subscribing; it helps kick out the content to more people who can benefit with you getting rewarded for that as well :) Wassalam Akeel

Masha Allah your arabic is really good and it's a great idea for inspiring the ummah to learn arabic. I know you may have got some criticism for your method of approaching so I just wanted to give you a little advice, which is that it would be better for you to turn your camera off and politely ask people if they would be comfortable to be in a video because you are wanting to make a video for KZbin, and giving them choice is more respectful than going in with a recording camera and putting them on the spot. Just because they speak Arabic doesn't mean they want to be on an online video, if a total stranger randomly came upto me recording asking if I wanted to speak English for their video, I'd feel uncomfortable and decline too. Plus not everyone watches or understands KZbin, I think you may have some generational naivety due to your age but it's OK as I know this was your first time doing it. But asking people's permission is part of our deen and akhlaq and I think you may be copying a western method of "well you are in public so I can record you", although you were respectful when they declined but like I said it's just your approach. Not everyone is as willing as you may hope or assume. Anyway keep up the good work and forgive me if I said anything to upset you but I hope you understand the point I'm trying to make. Keep up the good work akhi and keep learning in all realms ❤
