Funny I also shake drinks. The wonton soup looked good. The salad rolls were lovely. I've tried making them and they are not as pretty. Need to try again soon. Hello from Oregon US.

Wrapping in the rice paper was a good idea. They came out great. When I tell people to use fish sauce in a dish, I warm them NOT to smell it. If you smell it, you will never use it. Ha, ha. Hello from Oregon US.

I wish we could get more recipes like the rice rolls in Vietnamese restaurants. Same with Mapo tofu - I would love to try it but no Chinese restaurants around here in Nova Scotia would make it. They prefer to make Canadianized versions of Chinese recipes and it really isn’t very authentic. It’s very frustrating. At least I can buy more and more ingredients here. And I feel bolder about making my own Mapo tofu having seen you make it. I even have the right bean sauce for it. I think the steamer is a little out of my reach though. 😊

@@Roheryn100 you can use a non stick frying pan for the rice rolls or a regular steamer actually. A steamer may give better result, but a pan would work well too. Maybe next time if I make rice rolls again I will show you how to do it.

"my life is boring..." I had an exciting childhood, very happy with my boring life now. All your food looks very delicious. Like the idea of using the fish in the salad (summer) rolls. We call them summer rolls (some call them spring rolls, but that is wrong). I need to get more rice paper. Hi from a cold Oregon US.

Next time you drop your phone in water cover it in dry rice it’ll pull out all the moisture. I have to say you make some very yummy looking dishes.😊

The toro sashimi looked so good! Can I ask for the name of the Japanese restaurant? I usually go to Big Catch for sashimi but it's soo far away 🥹 I really hope your husband slowly begins to like fish sauce, I feel like it's an acquired taste once you start eating it more :) Also what region of Vietnam (north, central or south) is your family from?

@@harutran4703 the name of the restaurant is Takumi sushi. It's 20 minutes away from our home actually, but we like the food there. I'm from the Southern Vietnam (Mekong Delta).

Really interesting and different recipes today using different methods, really enjoyed this. If your husband doesn’t like fish sauce what dipping sauce would he have with the pancakes ? Which looked delicious ! Thank you for sharing, you put so much effort into making your meals

@@KarenAllison-b2i he ate it with soy sauce. He will eat it with soy sauce or dipping fish sauce with very little fish sauce in it.

Funny that also in English you call that kind of noodles "Vermicelli" which is an Italian word to describe a peculiar kind of pasta that we have here. Vermicelli in Italian literally means little worms
