Definitely a pyramid or sputnik sinkers. I've had luck with both cut bait as well as fish bites. Love my penn reels. New sub from my channel to yours

I have that rod. It’s actually pretty amazing for what it is. It’s my favorite light rig rod. Never thought I’d like it as much as I do. I’d get another if something ever happened to it but after 6 years of use it has had absolutely no problems and I’ve crushed tons of fresh and salt water fish using it.

A Bullet sinker will roll around like a beach ball if there is any current. A double 3 OZ pyramid will help with current tumble.

@@STOICOUTDOORS Was out two days ago, and caught 3 black tip shark along with two hammerheads largest about 11 lbs. along with gafftopsail catfish and hard heads I. I long cast with 13 ft rods and 12000 spinning reels and 30 lb 8 strand braid and 4 oz Pyramid sinkers, it gets me out to the deeper waters where the big fish roam.

@ they seem to love fishbites or small pieces of shrimp the surf. That also make good bait for reds. If I catch a few good size ones I’ll cook them out there. Delicious 😋
