I remember that store well. Born in 2000 I think the first ever lifts I travelled in after birth were some Express Lifts in the old Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. First lifts I remember were the Castle Mall TMS Lifts. Shame I am not old enough to remember the Car Park 2 TMS Lifts going up to the now abandoned upper levels for the demolished car park.

A nice RTV-G from 1999. I can remember the days when this escalator ran upwards. The ticket office used to be on level 4 underneath the escalator and you’d go up once you had tickets. That was back in the days the cinema was a ‘Ster Century’ before Vue took over. The mall and Norwich itself have changed a lot over the years - unfortunately like most places, not for the better. I used to like visiting there years ago but haven’t been for a while now. The original Kone TMS lifts here were very special too - I miss them with their rare panels, whining door motors and super efficient point landing.

Such a shame this lift no longer works its been completely off since August,its most likely gonna get modded or replaced,the staff at eldon garden said its completely knackered and its 36 years old and their having some problems getting parts,such a shame as it was a quite decent kone mod

I suspect the other one may also get done sadly but that’s maintained by the council I believe. This one of the two is maintained by the centre I believe. Old KONE TMS parts are not easy to get hold of nowadays. My local shopping centre replaced all their very heavily used ones by the end of 2014. The only ones which survive with a very heavy mod are the glass lifts. The mod here looks quite light compared to what happened to the glass lifts in Castle Quarter.

Aye I don't see these lasting long especially with their age the main one has problems banging 6 and safety breaking itself its been like that for 2 years and the other one had serious issues with the doors,it did have the doors fixed it had the door track sanded and new door operater put in and for short while it did work before it broke in august

According to a few staff members of this store these lifts will be getting replaced soon as they knackered and are prone to getting stuck evey few minutes

They will probably get a Hydroware mod. Sunderland store shuts very soon for good and the lift in there is very tired as well.

I did quite like these, glass lifts like this in a car park isnt that common, typical 80s building. Same as the ones across the road. They are also very quiet lifts for filming.

There is a modernised Schindler Keighley goods lift and I think that is the only lift in the store. I did film it but maybe should not have. No signs saying I couldn’t use it though

The main lifts do not serve U2, would have made more sense to have a corridor there through to them as surely it would be doable. The main lifts go B, G, L1, U1, L2, then 3.
