Hey! I actually found this game through a Reddit Ad out of all things. The premise and trailer seemed super amazing and the demo looks promising. I'll definetly hop on Day 1! I just have one question - As far as I understand, the Player creates the first colonist themself and after that random colonists are generated. Is it possible to make more custom ones? I'd love to add friends, family, characters, etc. That would make for a very fun experience. Think Tomodachi Life or Cult of the Lamb.

Hey, that's awesome!! Thanks for checking it out. You can create every single colonist if you want! There isn't an explicit link that says "this is my family member", but you can create them and also let them live together in the same building if you'd like :D

This seems so so so dope. I hope it gives a lot of freedoms, as well as ideas and suggestions for how to plan and organize your colony. Maybe some in-game library of political, 'utopic' ideologies to read up on and try out. I'm so hyped for this.

I’m confused at the bezos slander. He made phones cheaper. Then went out of business. In a capitalist system how does the same not play out? Am I missing something? Unless the laws of supply and demand work differently under either system what’s changed?

In this system he doesn't set the prices, the prices are set by a computer that calculates the supply and demand from everyone's plans. So in this example he wanted to make a ton of smartphones, but the colony didn't want that many, so the price was cut drastically by the computer.

I feel like u should do a bit more to distance urself from RimWorld. sure, focus on systems that rn't in RW like politics and large-scale economics (probably) does make this game its own thing rather than a rip-off, but first impressions matter! and it's not a good first impression when the graphics, the menu, and the trait system that r all depicted in screenshots look dangerously close to a more popular game. I wish u luck in developing smth unique (as long as it stays, well, unique), but pls be more mindful of designs u put on ur front page

Well, this game seems to be better. I mean, you seem to be not controlling every colonists as if they are robots. Some of them try to destroy everything. They also did do some working with economics and politics in it. It's not just a copy.

@@OskarKocour I meant, that in rimworld colonists don't even trade with each other. Like, they're just doing what you said and sometimes get psychic. In here they seem to trade with each other and be kinda independent. And, I played rimworld, but It was boring due to what I said. Money are used only for trade with other colonies.

Great game and thanks much for teaching the code as well..... hope you still monitor the site because another feature for this would be... should someone guess 3 times and NOT match, then the game penalizes them and resets the entire game, regardless of how far along you are. So if you can, help me with the code that would do this...... i'm real new to c...... Also for me personally, I will play with it and add more cols and rows and make it really tough!!

Played the demo, really great idea but it would be nice if there was some variety and randomness to the environment and the game didnt look like rimworld. Currently the game is 3/10 at most but it has a lot of potential

This looks good, I hope there will eventually be a way to increase or decrease the amount of political powers certain people have based on skills. I want to make a full Mars Technocracy type society. If you make an expansion you should add the need for a military, living on a hostile world covered in xenomorphs or bandits would be an interesting test situation.

Hello! I am following this tutorial series right now, I am pretty good at C# but I don't know the basics for FNA and Engine development so this serious is extremely helpful! Although, wouldn't it be easier to make one class for every sprite including walls etc? and then have players and specific sprites just inherit from it. So you can all render from one inherited class?

Glad to hear it! To be honest, I don't quite remember how I structured the code because I've rewritten my engine since these videos. But I'm pretty sure everything except the walls does inherit from a single class (pretty sure it's called GameObject). I wanted the walls to be separate from the objects because the walls aren't really objects, I also wanted to use them for simple collision bounds on maps etc. But if it makes more sense for what you're doing, feel free to make the walls inherit from a single class too!

I recommend making an ECS (entity-component system) where every GameObject has a list of GameComponents and can be updated and drawn separately. Hell, you can make the SpriteRenderer one of them.

You'll probably need to have an if check that checks the listbox count. Only run the code if there's something in there.
