I can remember my parents calling Tony Bennett a newcomer and discounting him. Yeah, I’m that old! Lol! Obviously, Tony Bennett’s style of the classic American playbook was unique. As was Bobby Darrin’s version of these songs. His life was cut way too short. Tragic 😢 After that, there wasn’t any artist embracing this music. In the late 1980s, Harry Connick brought it back to the forefront. His rendition of ‘It Had to Be You’ was so close to Sinatra’s but added just a bit of an edge to make it both nostalgic and unique at the same time. Harry Connick brought these amazing songs and this classic American style of music back into the mainstream and that’s what matters! And Michael Buble is carrying the torch to future generations. I have nothing against new and innovative artists bringing fresh sounds. That’s very culturally important. But it’s also very important to keep our American songbook relevant for generations to come! Buble is doing a great job! We need more artists/singers to follow the path. 🎤🎶🎤

I'd like to have a conversation with whoever posted this. Not fair to compare Michael to Bobby at all - ever - but especially the way you did it here. There is no comparison !! In my opinion, there is no competition between artistic talents - ever! All of them bring something unique and special and we are blessed to be allowed to enjoy whatever we choose to.
